Hotel Aavanaa Inn — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

It is located just a few minutes away from the CMC Hospital, so is very convenient for those visiting CMC. Booked a single bed AC room. The room was clean, however the phone wasn't working and had not been dusted. The AC was very old and noisy but it was not yet hot when I visited so could manage without the AC. They also provided warm water in the bathroom which was very nice. They could have provided drinking water in the rooms which they didn't. There was complimentary breakfast for all but it was mainly South Indian foods. They also have a vegetarian and non vegetarian restaurant which served really good food. There was also a bar for those who want to relax and chill. The staffs were polite but had difficulty communicating with them. Maybe they didn't know how to speak in English or Hindi. They could have kept someone in the reception who can communicate in atleast English or Hindi because there were many people from other parts of the country too. The USP of this property is it's location. Situated a few minutes walk from the CMC , it's a perfect stay for patients visiting the hospital. Booked a non a.c room over phone. Reception is spacious and exudes old world charm . The room allotted was airy and of standard size. There was no bottled water, no tea maker. intercom and TV were non functional The wash room was small, dank and the commode had seen better days. The cover came off the hinges when I tried to lift it. After much persuasion, shifted to another room. The wash room was same as the other room, but the commode cover was fixed. Went for meals at the roof top restaurant. Both food and ambience were excellent. Even if someone stays elsewhere, must try their food. And the buffet breakfast was also up to the mark. I recently stayed at Hotel Aavanaa Inn, and it was a horrific experience. From the moment I arrived, the service was appalling. The room was filthy, with stained sheets and a strong, unpleasant odor. The bathroom was in disrepair, flush not functioning, no hot water, the noise levels were unbearable, making it impossible to get any rest. This stay was far from the relaxing getaway we had hoped for. I strongly advise against staying here. However, I made a gentle remark and did complain about the poor housekeeping services. They seem to have taken my remarks positively and responded better service next time. Perhaps, to cool me reduced 10 % of the bill which I passed on to the security who were reasonable well behaved...
