When i reached the fully crowded street, i thought finally i have reached the much hyped China town restaurant but unfortuantely China town has nothing chinese in any of its food. I dont understand how people eat from here, thinking that it is chinese. I was taken aback by the build up that they gave that 'the master' has not arrived and that it will take time to cook food and that i have to wait. Finally after one hour, i got this food in the pics. One of the worst noodles i had ever eaten is from here which is all dry and clumped together with no taste. Congratulating myself for that achievement. The schezwan chicken is more like schezwan capsicum with uncooked chicken in between. Dragon chicken is just chicken covered with flour. Naan was pre cooked, so when they re heated, it got burnt(my explanation for the burnt naan). But the quantity was ok which is enough for 2 people. Other than that, everything was awful. This is the second time, i had gone there.
Please people, if you are putting any review, just dont put for the sake of it. Please go to some decent restaurant, taste and eat properly, compare with others, then put an honest review. Eat atleast at 2 different times or days and then put up a review, otherwise we all are going...
Read moreChina Town A place I was afraid of dining-in. Never ordered too. One day I had my akka hyping up this place like soo much saying their “crispy veg yumm, Singaporean noodles, yummm yumm” which made me want to try this place. I had asked her umpteen times about the hygiene, cleanliness and everything at this place before going. She said “Doctors eat here” which changed my mind. Finally I was here and I was happy that there is a place serving amazing Chinese food in Vellore! Everything was yumm yummm
Used to be a fan of their wonton soup which has been a little off recently, another great option would be their manchow soup. The plain fried rice and the schezwan fried rice were damn, I loved it – the quantity was a lot and good for 2 people. Honey chilli Potato – Taste amazing and delicious with fried rice Crispy Veg was okay – felt it was romba burnt and went soggy after a while They serve North Indian dishes too, shall not be trying them at a place called “CHINA town” obviously. Read moreA visit to China Town Restaurant in Vellore left me with a mixed impression, particularly after trying their biryani. The restaurant has a pleasant, if somewhat standard, atmosphere, and the service was prompt and courteous. However, the true test of any restaurant lies in its food, and in this case, the biryani fell short of expectations. It wasn't bad, but it was certainly not memorable. The rice was cooked to an acceptable texture, and the meat was tender, but the flavors simply didn't come through. The spice blend felt muted and lacked the aromatic punch that defines a great biryani. It tasted like it was missing that special ingredient or careful hand that makes the dish sing. It was a straightforward meal that filled the stomach but didn't excite the palate. While the experience was average, the restaurant does have a wide-ranging menu, so perhaps other dishes would prove to be more impressive. For now, the biryani is a safe, but...
