Stay Away from This Horrible Place!
I cannot express how awful our experience at this property was. What should’ve been a simple stay turned into an absolute disaster. First off, no one bothered to mention the ridiculously steep climb to get to the location. It’s exhausting and frustrating, and we were completely unprepared for it.
From the second we stepped into our room, it was obvious that cleanliness wasn’t even on their radar. The linens were disgusting, and despite asking them to change them, nothing was done. The area around the gate? Filthy. Housekeeping? A joke. They clearly don’t care about maintaining any standards. The Wi-Fi didn’t work for the entire duration of our stay, leaving us disconnected and frustrated.
The reception staff were fake-friendly when we first got there, but by the end of the stay, they were uncooperative and completely dismissive.
We actually thought about extending our stay, found a cheaper, better room on the same property, and asked about the price difference. Instead of giving us a straight answer, we got some nonsense that made it clear they had no idea what they were doing. Even though we decided to extend our stay at the same property. We even asked them to book the new room for us and explained that while it was being cleaned, we’d quickly freshen up in our old room, meaning we’d stay a little past our checkout time. so we thought everything was sorted. But when we finally decided to switch rooms, we returned to find the new room wasn’t even ready! After all the back and forth, it was the last straw. At that point, we just wanted to leave.
We had our cat with us, and when we first arrived, the person at the reception was perfectly fine with us leaving her at reception. But when we wanted to do it again on our departure day, suddenly she refused, claiming some dog nearby might bite her. We suggested using a vacant room for a short while, but suddenly all the rooms were "fully booked," even though we had just canceled our reservation for one of them! These people are straight-up liars, all smiles until they’ve taken your money. After 20 minutes of persistence, she finally pointed us to some grimy storeroom. By then, we were done with this place.
The food? Don’t even get me started. We ordered bread with jam and butter, milk tea, lemon tea, and boiled eggs. What we got was cold milk tea, lemon tea that was nothing but sugary hot water with no tea in it, stale bread that had been toasted hours ago, and boiled eggs that smelled like they had gone bad.
There is absolutely NOTHING good about this place. The service is horrendous, the staff are dishonest, and the overall experience is just miserable. Do yourself a favor and stay far away...
Read moreWe checked in at the property and despite of informing about our arrival time and prior intimations our rooms were unclean, the bed sheets and blankets were dirty and rooms were smelly, the water was dirty, the tv was not recharged. The staffs said the room was smelly because a dog was inside the room before we checked in, we knew that it was a pet friendly property but there should have been a little care taken before handing over the room to a new guest. We had a lot of expectations from the property and were planning to extend our stay on the 4th Dec as well but we checked out the very next day. The terrace area seats are all torn and not maintained.
We were planning to book Narayana amongst the chains Salvus has but due to unavailabilty we chose Swiss as we trusted the brand Salvus. We are extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend these stay to anyone in future. We tried calling them but their numbers were not reachable and even we tried to get thru Mr. Deepak who had taken care of our bookings but he wasn’t available, we approached the reception but couldn’t get any response. Out of the 5 properties we stayed in our travel the worst was Swiss. Later during check out we meet Mr. Lokesh and he too was adamant that nothing was wrong from your end and on getting in touch with Mr. Aakash he says that this is all you get for a Rs. 2000/- tariff room, for which I was charged Rs. 2750/-, for your reference we expect a little more than what we got for the price we paid, we don't expect it too be lavish and extravagant but basic things like a neat and tidy room can be expected.
The only good thing about the property was that the junior staffs were helpful and polite.
We were expecting a lot from such long-serving chain like Salvus but this has just jeopardised the goodwill of the unit.
Also my bill receipts are pending and we getting no response for the mail that we had sent regarding the complaint nor for the one demanding payment receipts.

Wouldn't recommend anyone until staff has been properly trained, and the rooms and balconies have been deep cleaned.
Cons:
Staff & Room service - 1/5. Got my room after 1 hour of mentioned check-in time. Didnt get 2 Bath towels & a face towel in the bathroom even after request. Didnt get proper help with luggage handling either. Staff absolutely rude, informal & unprofessional. Even after waiting at the reception to talk to them, they will be amongst themselves chatting about something or the other.
Room Hygiene/Stay Quality - 2/5. The rooms are too small than whats described, especially the Premium Luxury room with Terrace is mentioned to be of 225sq.ft which is a total of the room itself plus the Common Shared balconies outside the room - the room itself felt even smaller than the 100sq.ft Cottage room which was way cheaper. Rooms were untidy and full of dust. The bedsheets have got marks on them, the windows, parapets, sofas, chairs and especially all the furniture described on the terrace were full of dust. One can imagine that these might not have been cleaned since ages.
Location/Proximity - 2/5 The stay itself is way down a small alley probably around 300meters walking from the Main Road, with no access to car directly to the reception for luggage. No Private parking available either. Too far from the main city.
Pros:
The overall design of this old house to the new cottages, is really good. It's kind of a mix of heritage art & gypsy culture. Unfortunately not maintained well though.
Overall, it's a below average stay I'd say. You might wanna avoid this - there are way better options available within Rishikesh, near the river with a view at even...
