We stayed two weeks,it's a long stay through which you have enough time to experience all the pros and contras of a lodging. And we really felt like at home!!!. The rooms are spacious and clean, with blankets. Hot water and bathroom amenities, and towels. TV and beautiful views of the Himalaya from the corridor and the upstairs terrace. 2 min walk from the main square and 5 min walk from the taxi station. It's in the middle of the city but not as noisy as you can expect. Darjeeling is a nosy city because of the constantly car horn sounds during the daytime, and it's a humid city because of the altitude and weather, so don't complain about the humidity, as its like that everywere...||We used to go almost every day to the terrace to chill a little bit.||The breakfast is abundant, delicious and energyzer, some days we had soup for dinner which was also delicious. The milk tea they prepare is a must (we got addicted to it). The momos delicious.||So the place is wonderful, close to the center, clean with delicious food....all this it's okay, but the most important thing are the people who works there, they are professional, friendly and kind. They gave us tips, recommendations, advices, helped when we needed. They made our stay unforgettable, and they made us feel like at home Thank you Naveen, Dewakar, Diwrats, and all the staff, you...
Read moreHi all,||We stayed here from 1st to 4th May, 2019 and I must say though the hotel is not accessible by all vehicles (except private ones), its just 5 mins walk from the main mall square and 7-8 mins walk from Bhanu Bhawan (You get Porters for your luggage at 100 bux), so no issues there.|Now coming to the hotel, its small but very beautifully setup and maintained. The property is run by a family who lives there and their hospitality has no bounds. Mr. Naveen and his team made sure, we had all our needs taken care off.|I heard learnt that they make good cupcakes and on request they also treated us with some.|Our travel needs where also taken care off by them.|Rooms are clean and elaborately maintained.Washrooms are also very tidy. They give laundry service so thats an A.|The only dificulty one with problems in walking may have is the road to the hotel from mall is narrow and is currently under construction. So its a bit untidy and if it rains it gets a lil muddy. However thats just coz of the construction and once its done with it wont be an issue.Even the main mall square and market place is also undergoing construction works.||Overall a hotel i would recommend to all travellers who are looking for affordable but clean rooms for stay.||P.S: Do check...
Read moreWe stayed for three nights at Magnolia residency. We were three adults and chose a double bedroom on the first floor. First, the owner was very kind and made us feel at home. He even provided running hot water when there was a power cut and the geyser was not working. The attendants who provided us tea and coffee at our rooms were also exceptionally well behaved and always had a smile on their faces. Please give this hotel a try when you visit Darjeeling. It's very near to the Mall and is located at a very gentle incline which is manageable by senior citizens as well. The only downside is that they don't have a lunch/dinner facility. It became extremely difficult for us to find food around 8 in the evening when the temperatures reached 3 degrees celsius. Another issue is that the rooms were a bit small for three adults but you could ask the owner for bigger rooms. We didn't avail of that option due to budget...
