Hotel North Star — Hotel in West Bengal

One of the worst hotel in Darjeeling. They don't care about the guests. They don't have any room services. You will be treated like a beggar in this hotel. Only receptionist's behaviour is quite good. While we arrived with 13 luggages with only 3 young persons and 4 old persons. They send one room service guy and that guy took one small bag and ask us to take rest of the luggages inside. We 7 (including 4 old persons (Parents)) carried all the luggages to their reception. Then again to our allocated room. We all were very much thirsty so we asked for water from that room service guy(Atleast water you can expect from a hotel where you are paying to stay). After half an hour he didn't return and we were forced to buy water from outside. Also, the attitude of the room service people are like they are doing mercy to us. What the hell??!!!!! I have paid and I am asking for your service. At least water. Anyway, we had meal plan with this booking, so asked the same room service guy for by when lunch will start? I asked this question around 11:55 am. Because we were in hurry to head to Kolkata. I was really shocked by his reply. He replied like "It's getting ready, once it will be ready, you will get the food" with arrogant voice. Hey man! I am paying for staying at your bloody hotel that's why you are getting your salary.

And funny thing was, the same guy carried maximum of my luggages and packed to our cab while we were checking out and asked for tips!!!!!!!!!!! I smiled at him and finally gave some money to that beggar.

So my suggestion is never ever book a room at this hotel. You will be treated like...

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels to stay in Darjeeling, be it’s location or service even their food. Everything is top notch. Seamless Wifi, stones throw distance from Kev’s . 5-7 mins walk to the Mall road. If the weather is good , you can sip your morning tea , gazing at the mighty Himalayas. Large spacious rooms with modern amenities. The bathroom is clean and has hot water throughout the day which is really rare even in 4 or 5 star hotels of Darjeeling . The lights and ambience of the room were good. Bedsheets were clean and sanitized.

Nearby activities Situated at the heart of Darjeeling the hotel is surrounded by shops and local vendors offering food, clothes etc. which makes the ambience good. Glenary's and keventers are one of the Restaurants situated at a walking distance from the hotel and in spite of being a hill station this place is open till at least 10:00 pm during Summers .

Biggest plus point is the price it's not exorbitant rather reasonable considering the service they provide. They even provide free drinking water from an aqua guard which saves a lot of money . Courteous staff, always helping you. Cleaning the room everyday , always responds to the problems we addressed even if you called them multiple times they never hesitated to help us . We stayed 4 nights here , we can proudly say that what we experienced here ,is worth every penny.
