Title: A Detailed Review of My Stay at R. J. Resorts Ltd. in Darjeeling
I recently spent a memorable three nights and four days at R. J. Resorts Ltd. in Darjeeling with my family. While the experience had its highs and lows, here is a comprehensive review based on my observations and comments during the stay:
Receptionist Manners: The first impression matters, and unfortunately, the receptionist at R. J. Resorts left much to be desired in terms of manners. The lack of courtesy was notable and somewhat impacted the initial experience. A warm and welcoming reception is crucial in setting the tone for a guest's stay.
Local Cab Booking: One piece of advice for future guests is to refrain from booking local cabs through the hotel. My experience suggests that there might be better alternatives in terms of pricing and service quality when opting for local transportation elsewhere.
Room Quality: On the positive side, the rooms at R. J. Resorts were pleasing. The accommodation was comfortable, providing a good space for relaxation after a day of exploring Darjeeling. Cleanliness was maintained, contributing to a satisfactory stay.
Heater Issues: While the rooms were well-kept, a drawback was the non-functioning heater. This posed an inconvenience, especially considering the chilly weather in Darjeeling. Addressing and ensuring the functionality of room amenities like heaters is crucial for a comfortable stay, especially in cold climates.
Limited Amenities: Despite the pleasant rooms, the overall amenities were somewhat limited. A broader range of facilities and services would enhance the overall guest experience. It's essential for a resort to offer a comprehensive set of amenities to cater to the diverse needs of guests.
Meal Quality and Variety: The dining experience at R. J. Resorts was a mixed bag. The meals provided by the hotel were not up to par, and the options were limited. Fortunately, the silver lining was the availability of delicious food outside the hotel premises, although it came at an additional cost.
View and Location: Contrary to expectations, there was no Kanchanjanga view from the resort. However, a short two-minute walk provided a stunning view, compensating for the initial disappointment. The location, near Mall Road, was convenient for exploring the town and its attractions.
In conclusion, my stay at R. J. Resorts Ltd. had its ups and downs. While the rooms were comfortable and the location convenient, areas like staff manners, amenities, and meal quality could be improved to provide a more satisfying guest experience. Constructive feedback is shared in the hope that it contributes to the continuous improvement of the...

Their lack of hospitality was evident, and it's clear that there's room for improvement in the way they interact with guests.||||2. Cab Booking Experience:I strongly advise against booking any cabs through the hotel. My personal experience with this service was far from satisfactory, and I would recommend exploring alternative transportation options.||||3. I would suggest considering dining options in the Mall Road area, where you might find a better selection of restaurants offering more appealing choices.||||4. Room Soundproofing: The room I stayed in was not adequately soundproofed, leading to disturbances that affected the overall quality of my stay.||||5. Room Heater Issues: The room heater initially provided was not working, and it was only replaced upon my request. This inconvenience added a layer of discomfort to the stay.||||6. Overall Ambiance: On a positive note, the physical location and ambiance of R.J Ressorts were commendable. The surrounding area contributed positively to the overall experience.||||7. Read moreDarjeeling is a beautiful 3 hr drive from Siliguri , and the RJ resort there is superbly located , on the mall road just opposite the Governors bungalow . The food on their rooftop restaurant is perhaps THE Best in Darjeeling , no exaggeration . Be it the Chicken momos , the Thukpa , their chicken wings , their grilled fish and their desserts . All exquisitely prepared and served . The owner Mohit Singh whom we ran into just by chance was very warm , welcoming and helpful as were the Mgr Prajnya and the service staff Ateekshna , and Elena . The location itself is perfect , far from the bustling city below and perfectly placed 10 mts away from both the mall mkt and the Himalayan mountaineering institute and the Nightingale park on the other side . The quiet misty walk way just opposite the hotel , around the observatory hill and mahakaal shrine is also unmissable for its superb views of the surrounding mountains and pristine fragrant air . Don't leave your windows open and food or fruits in the room as the monkeys around are quite aggressive . We had an exciting and funny incident . RJs MAP pkg is great vfm at 6k / double room with breakfast and dinner . It's also very popular with the tour group companies . Thanks to the whole RJ team for a...
