Darjeeling is a beautiful 3 hr drive from Siliguri , and the RJ resort there is superbly located , on the mall road just opposite the Governors bungalow . The food on their rooftop restaurant is perhaps THE Best in Darjeeling , no exaggeration . Be it the Chicken momos , the Thukpa , their chicken wings , their grilled fish and their desserts . All exquisitely prepared and served . The owner Mohit Singh whom we ran into just by chance was very warm , welcoming and helpful as were the Mgr Prajnya and the service staff Ateekshna , and Elena . The location itself is perfect , far from the bustling city below and perfectly placed 10 mts away from both the mall mkt and the Himalayan mountaineering institute and the Nightingale park on the other side . The quiet misty walk way just opposite the hotel , around the observatory hill and mahakaal shrine is also unmissable for its superb views of the surrounding mountains and pristine fragrant air . Don't leave your windows open and food or fruits in the room as the monkeys around are quite aggressive . We had an exciting and funny incident .
