OYO 43895 Udipi Home — Hotel in Zone 5 Royapuram

Locally known as the Udipi Home hotel left me a memorable experience during my stay in Chennai.

Location:

The hotel is located in Egmore area of Chennai, 5 minutes of walk from the Egmore railway station or the Egmore Metro Station. The Apollo Hospital is just 5 minutes drive away. The Marina Beach is around 10 minutes drive away. The area has many food joints and shops for basic utilities. If you need to access other areas of Chennai, just walk to the Egmore Metro station.

Rooms:

The hotel has an OYO tag. I booked it on Goibibo, my preferred app, and I got a double room for ₹1000 a night. The rooms are neat and tidy, baring a little dust here and there on the furniture, which is acceptable. Lighting and air conditioning are perfectly engineered. The toilet and bathroom is also well placed and clean. Since the hotel is just beside a busy traffic signal, you might get disturbed by honking vehicles at night if you get a room beside the road. That is fine.

Service:

The hotel staff are friendly and prompt in serving you with the facilities. Ask them nicely and they shall entertain your requests and queries diligently. They have a travel desk near the reception in case you need to book train or flight tickets or take cabs to visit places within the city.

My stay at the Udipi Home hotel was comfortable and satisfying. OYO has lived up to its billing again.

Regret. I will regret staying in this hotel for the rest of my life. Though rooms were good and staffs behaviour was also okay. But, unfortunately, I left my jeans, shirt and a leather belt in the wooden almirah near the dining place. As soon as I reached my home and unpacked, it striked my mind that I left those items in the hotel room. I immediately called the reception and requested to courier my belongings. I also agreed to pay courier charges and any extra amount you want. They asked to call back in 10 minutes. When I called again after 31 minutes they said that nothing is there. I told them the exact position where I left those items. They asked to call me again after 5 minutes. I called again after 26 minutes again they repeated the same that nothing is there. Comfy and clean rooms and bathrooms. For staying. Get a 1L water bottle complimentary with breakfast everyday.

Marathas the restaurant of the hotel serves only vegetarian food! Taste áwesome!

Friendly and helpful staffs. The old man at the reception looks like he owns the place by his good behaviour and helpfulness.

Very close (500-600m walking distance) to the Egmore station from where you can board metro or local train(Rs5/person) and the normal long distance Train!
