Rude, uncourteous and robbing attitude of staffs abd management of an international organization was shocking.|I booked for 10 days in the first week of May, for the dates,May 27th to June 5th, but I chkd in on 26th itself a standard AC room for 2 adults, at the time of direct phone call booking the tariff I was told was INR 2476, inclusive of GST and complimentary breakfast for 2...while checking in on May 26th, I was told by the female front desk incharge that 8 had to pay first for 2 days and then pay the rest in incriments for my 10 days stay,I wasasked to pay INR 2594 per day, when I asked why change she literally slapped a tariff card in front of my face.|I paid INR 5188,on 27th ,there was another manager to whom I paid for the next 4 days till May 31st, he charged INR w500 per day, I asked why the change he said something like its like that it will decrease after initial payment, but didn't give me any details. |On May 30th I said, to the same male front desk manager I will pay the balance 4 days till 5th,he said there will be a tariff change and he can help me to have a late check out if I pay on June 1st, when I asked what does he means by tariff change, he said some unclear technical margon about chk out chk in tining etc.|On June 1st, when I went to pay the female staff was there, she asked me to pay a balance of Rs 200 for the previous 6 days I asked her to show me the invoice and made her do a tariff calculation, that's when I was told the first day of stay all guests are charged INR 100 as club associations fee and rest of the days,INR2476, so I was akteady charged INR 214 excess, then she apologized and said since today on June 1st it will be considered a new check in ,,I had to pay for the breakfast INR 200 per head, I said I won't as I am going to continue my stay, then she reluctantly Saud ok pay for one person, I said NO , I don't want any adjustments for late check out, and I will pay right wlaway for the next 4 days.||Then came the shocker, she said rhe room tariff for 1 day now isINR 3900, I asked how cone they hiked 50% in one night and without information and also I hooked for 10 days when the tariff was 2476, the management refused to budge|In the end I refused to pay 3900 for June 1st and paid the old tariff a d checked out and was fortunate enough to find a better place with much better tariff nearby.||They don't keep enough water bottles, nor do they clean impeccably, no room service, breakfast is decent, property is good, for public transport but rooms are old and just...
Read moreWe stayed for 4 days in October 2021 and we had 2 rooms - one double and one single. The double room meant two single beds in a room. The single room meant one queen size bed in a room. Our stay was comfortable and we liked it.
Pros: clean rooms and clean bathrooms. I mean really clean. there is ample private parking space for the guests. Its inside a campus so you don't have to search for parking outside. there's greenery maintained in the campus so one can go for a stroll outside without being faced with traffic and crowd of people. This is a big plus compared to hotels in the same range of tariff or even more. you'll get a newspaper every day morning to start your day if you enjoy reading it the rooms are cleaned daily and it keeps things well maintained giving you a fresh feeling every day I liked the daily complementary breakfast. It used to have boiled eggs/omelette, bread & butter, coffee & tea, fruits, and a southern or a north indian dish. since I stayed there for 4 days and took 2 rooms, I got a discount of 15% Sankar Nethralaya was approx 15 mins drive by auto rickshaw I used to wake up to birds chirping instead of my alarm clock. This was very pleasant, thanks to the trees surrounding the guest house:) you can have lunch and dinner at the guest house, with a limited, pre-decided menu (decided by the guest house). No ala carte.
Cons: the toilet seat cover in the single room #122 was an old one with too much stains on it. A small investment from the guest house can make a huge difference here in the perception of cleanliness. there's no restaurants at a "walkable" distance". By walkable I mean within 20-30 mins of walk. You can order food online on swiggy or other platforms...
Read moreA bit of a nightmarish experience at this place. I booked to stay at YWCA International Guest House for a 17 days. Before I left Australia, I confirmed and re-confirmed that my booking for an air conditioned double room was all good to go.
When I arrived to check in, I was told by the employee at the front office, that there were no double rooms available. Even when I insisted and reminded then that my booking had been confirmed for a double room, I was told that there were only single rooms available. I was then asked why I needed a double room, and if I was expecting someone else to join me in my room, which I was quite offended by. But since it was around 2 am, I did not have many other options. I checked into my room and immediately noticed that the floors were not very clean and the room itself smelled a bit funny. Since it was that late I decided to turn on the AC and sleep, but realised even the AC was giving out a disgustingly musky smell. The smell was so strong that I could only sleep for about 3 hrs that night.
I woke up and checked myself out that very next morning.
Another problem was trying to get my refund (10,000 Rs) returned to me, which took 3 weeks, even after multiple visits to enquire why it hadn't been returned.
Overall, this was my worst experience of staying anywhere overseas. I would advise overseas visitors, especially to...
