We stayed for a night and based on the booking confirmation, we got an Executive room. Our unit was on the second floor and to our surprise, it had a window with no view. Yes, there was a window but without a view.
Let's talk about the interior design first because this is the aspect I like from our room. Upon entering the room, we were mesmerised by the sleek interpretation of modern Javanese architecture, combining wall paneling, woven rattan headboard, and bathroom door with textured glass panels with modern amenities and Industrial-style furniture. The room was less spacious than expected, yet well-lit so it was quite cozy and warm.
The bathroom was not that big, but it had a roomy shower area. However, there was no door separating the shower area with other parts of the bathroom and the split level did not do much. The bathroom itself had a hair dryer and a pretty, almost midcentury-ish circle mirror. However, there was a hole on the ceiling, right above the shower area and I was a bit concerned about it.
Now, here are some complaints. The Wi-Fi was unreliable. Super unreliable. I barely connected to the internet and even after the connection was established, I couldn't work or do much since the connection was super slow and oftentimes interrupted. I ended up going to Starbucks to work from there. The TV controller needed some repair. Pressing the buttons took more patience than expected.
The worst part would be the noise. Despite our unit being nestled among other rooms, it was not properly sound-proofed, much to our chagrin. Apparently, the guests "next door" came with their children and it was super annoying that those kids kept knocking on the wall paneling, disturbing us. It wasn't over here. We could hear their conversation and stupid noises like furniture moving, children whining and crying, and even phone vibration! I'm not kidding. I was awakened by the sound of phone vibration. I thought it was my phone vibrating (or my cousin's) but turned out, it was the next door guest's and they did not even think of dismissing the alarm or whatnot. Are the walls super thin that we can hear noise from next door so clearly?
Breakfast was okay. I had no objection. There was a swimming pool with a city view. A perfect spot to relax, I would say. The hotel's location is amazing. We can walk for only 3 minutes to Paris van Java Mall. Overall, the staying experience is both positive and negative. I might come back again to stay but perhaps, I will book another type of room, possibly a quieter one with...
Read moreI stayed here for one night during a school reunion. Since I spent most of my time hanging out with friends, I only used the hotel for a quick five-hour sleep and breakfast. So, I can't say much about the overall experience, but here’s my best shot:
Bedroom: Decent. I slept well. I booked their smallest room, and it served its purpose—clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either.
Bathroom: Comes with standard amenities: 1 bar of soap, 2 sets of toothbrushes and toothpaste, 2 towels, shampoo, shower cap, cotton buds, and a hair dryer. Hot water worked fine. However, the sink drain was a bit problematic—the water drained very slowly. Management should fix this.
Breakfast: Plenty of options, and most suited my taste. The main dishes included white rice, lightly fried rice, stir-fried vermicelli, corn fritters, fried chicken, salted fish, and shredded tongkol (my favorite).
Other items available: mie kocok, lontong sayur, bubur kacang hijau, bubur ketan hitam, and chicken porridge.
If you’re not up for a heavy breakfast (maybe still recovering from last night’s party), there’s also a good selection of bread, pastries, waffles, omelets, cereal, salad, fruit, and gorengan.
Drinks include the standard coffee, tea, two kinds of juice, infused water, and plain water.
Parking: This is a common complaint among guests, so I’ll keep it brief: yes, it’s crowded. Fortunately, the security staff is helpful—but you’ll need to leave them your car keys so they can manage the space.
Location: Yes, it's right across from Paris van Java Mall and close to several other tourist spots like Rumah Mode, Cihampelas, Cimbeuleuit, and Geger Kalong. That said, I was mainly in Bandung to hang out with old friends, so the hotel location wasn’t a big factor for me. One heads-up: if you hate traffic jams, you might want to avoid the area on Saturdays. It was chaotic.
Would I stay here again? I wouldn’t mind, but I’m not exactly eager to return either. It’s a decent place—just not...
Read moreAn update: After posting my review, the hotel finally took action. About five days after my review was posted, they managed to find my AirPods and return them to me. However, the hotel did not provide any details about the investigation or how the theft occurred in my room, despite my request for this information. The hotel stated they had taken the necessary steps to ensure that such an incident won’t happen again. Additionally, the hotel asked me to delete my review. Instead, I decided to update the case to be fair to everyone. As of now, this case is closed. —— DO NOT STAY OR SUPPORT THIS HOTEL! My AirPods were stolen by one of the hotel staff members. The theft likely occurred around 7:45 AM while my mom and I were downstairs having breakfast and had the “Do Not Disturb” sign switched on. I have proof that it was one of their staff members who took my AirPods, as they were linked to my account and I was able to track them. The AirPods traveled from the hotel to the thief’s home and back over several days. Once I had this proof, I filed a complaint with the hotel, but they refused to take responsibility and did nothing to investigate the theft. They ignored my requests for CCTV footage and dismissed the address of the thief I provided. It’s clear they care more about protecting their staff than ensuring the safety and trust of their guests. Additionally, when we checked into our room, the housekeeping team had failed to change the pillowcase, which was dirty and smelled unpleasant. The toilet also had a terrible odor. You’ve been warned—DO...
