Stayed here recently with my family. First thoughts were that it was a little old fashioned, although I quite liked it. The rooms were huge, but the furniture looked very old, although the beds were comfy and the rooms very clean. Sadly on our first day/night we had massive issues with the plumbing. Our shower wouldn't drain away, and all the water went into the bedroom, and as everything was fully tiled this became a real hazard especially as I am unsteady on my feet. Then when using the sink once the plug was put in we realised the leaver was missing so we were unable to remove the plug again. We reported the problems to reception who came to sort it while we went for food. Sadly the worst was not over, once we returned in the evening, my partner used the toilet pulled the flush and the toilet not only flooded the bathroom, but again all into the bedroom. Initially we were told it would be sorted in the morning, but after a few raised voices we were moved to another room. All said, the hotel itself, was lovely if you like the oldie worldie feel. The pool was lovely with towels provided. There aren't any real facilities here as such, no restaurant or bar, but it's very close to bars etc, and very close to the beach. I believe they may be starting to refurbish the property as they were starting to paint the building while we were there, and changing some of the furniture in one of the rooms. Read moreCharming li'l hotel that has seems better days (1980s). Located near the beach (~100m). Rooms and furnishings are old and worn out. Expect creaky beds, cupboard doors, Shakey taps.
Staff are friendly and helpful. But leaves you alone. And no worries, they have wifi and provide daily bottled drinks (non refrigerated).
Nostalgic!
There are a few Japanese restaurants and local warungs, pubs around. Also a few convenience stalls/supermarkets (Alfamart & Indomart) nearby to grab any necessities.
35 mins walk/stroll along the beach to the new Bali Icon Mall (Recommended). Many joggers and bicycles to rent. Many food selections at the mall - expect taxes & service charge!
Laundry services available around the hotel but they can be rather pricey (50k per kg) but it includes pick-up & delivery. I managed to find one shop that charges just ~10k per kg (self pick up), around 5 mins walk from the hotel.
Nice & relaxing stay at this...
Read moreLove Love Love this Hotel... In a great location 2 min walk to beach.. heaps of Restaurants and cafes around.. although I chose to eat in the in-house Restaurant (there for 1 night transitioning to Nusa Lembongan) and was so surprised at the quality of the food for the great price... I would come here for their Restaurant alone..staff are very friendly and respectful. I was more than happy with my generous sized room on ground floor with easy access to pool + restaurant.. it was very clean.. dated furnishings yes .... but it was comfy and cosy ..has great sized fridge.. tea + coffee facilities.. comfy bed..plenty clothing hanging/storage..aircon was icy cold and not noisy... has walk-in shower and separate bath.. could do with updating + adding 1 or 2 wall plugs for charging phone/laptop... over all i would definitely recommend and happy to come back here... thanks Palm Garden...
