Villa Molas Mongko — Hotel in Flores

Staying at Pauline’s villa was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. From start to finish, everything felt smooth, warm, and incredibly worth the money.

The location is excellent—only a 10-minute drive from the airport, which made our late arrival stress-free. Although we were delayed by an hour, check-in was no problem at all. Kristina, the co-host, was super helpful and provided clear instructions that made everything easy.

The moment I opened the room, I was stunned by the spectacular bay view. Even though we arrived after sunset and it was a bit cloudy, it was still breathtaking. The room itself was spotless and smelled amazing—definitely exceeded expectations.

To my surprise, Kristina even offered us breakfast, which I didn’t expect at all! In the morning, the view was unreal—like something out of a postcard. My brother and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with that gorgeous bay in the background. We could choose between rice, noodles, or a sandwich, and it came with sliced fruit for dessert. Pauline also provides coffee, refillable water, and drinks in the fridge (note: drinks are not free, but convenient).

The pool was lovely and clean, and we appreciated having secondary towels. Pauline has two dogs on the property for security—don’t worry if they bark at first! After a few days, they recognized us and were super friendly and sweet.

The location is also very strategic. There are restaurants within a 5-minute walk, and although the area has nearby bars and cafés (so there’s some outside noise), the villa is well soundproofed, so we slept soundly every night.

A special shoutout to Kristina—she was amazing throughout our stay. She gave us great local recommendations, food tips, and even helped us find a fast laundry service (we swam a lot, so that was a lifesaver!). Honestly, her warmth and care felt just like being taken care of by a mom.

We stayed at Villa Molas Mongko last week. What an amazing villa is this, the view over the bay with the sunset is magnificent.

The villa is clean and has an amazing pool. Paulien the host is very friendly and gives good tips per e-mail and is quickly replying on questions.

The dogs who only stay in the lower part of the Villa played a lot with our Son, so friendly when they got to know us.

The house Lady Christina prepared a very fresh breakfast every day. If you have laundry she can take care of it during your stay.

We would definitely come back to this place if we choose to travel to Labuan Bajo!

Lovely place just outside the city but still within walking distance.
