My friend and I have been diving and snorkeling loads of time, but never felt that unwelcomed on a boat. We booked the 31st of january for the day after, paying for a snorkeling day trip and a camera rental. The divers in the shop (two spanish divers Alvaro and a girl) tried many times to make us change our mind for a diving option, but we stayed put. We were after that no longer considered as "real costumers" (we know you won't have your comission when people are snorkeling instead of diving, but some professionalism might not be too much to ask ?) The day after at the breakfast no hello, no explications, no conversations at all from the same spanish instructors (except for the divers of course). We felt completely left over during the whole trip.
When we arrived on the boat the only person who told the costumers some security instructions was a dive instructors working in the company - but who was OFF/ not working during the trip. Hm, alright ? No security rules, no explications about the snorkeling (like about the behaviour when seeing animals, that kind of basic stuff instructors are supposed to tell before entering the water) just a really short talk about where we have to go.
As we rented a camera I ask for it, but none of the instructors have it. The only answer was "uh, did you ask at the shop before we left?". Hm no ? I paid for a camera, I assume that it will be with all the equipments ? That I don't have to make you remember ?
So NO camera, no organization, no professionalism from the crew.
We still had a really good time cause the sites were beautiful, we swam with manta rays and went to see the dragons afterwards. I would recommend to do a day trip there, but defenitly NOT with this...
Read moreExperiencing the beauty of Komodo Island marine life is best done on a liveaboard. My wife and I were very fortunate to have found Divers Paradise Komodo which has the perfect liveaboard package for our needs. The price was only slightly more than a daily 3 dives boat trip. We had a 4days and 3nights liveaboard trip with Divers Paradise. It was the best dive experience of my 16years & my wife’s 10 years of diving. We managed 13 amazing dives. We were the only 2 guest on the boat and taken care of by 5 wonderful staff. Our boat Captain, Mr Musa, kept us save and comfortable. Mr Wadir, the chef, who cooked delicious local cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He also provides juices, fruits and snacks after every dive. Mr Suhada, our mechanic, which also assisted us on our dives and equipment. Mr Dyran, a very helpful young man, who assisted us in our dives and moonlighted as a personal photographer for us. The person that made the trip perfect is of course our dive guide, Mr Albert. He was very passionate in what he does which clearly reflects in his dive plans for us. We were treated like VIPs and most of the top dive sites we went to, we were the only divers there. His experience and passion in his job made our experience priceless. He was genuinely excited as us when we were escorted down by 5 dolphins on one of our dives. The boat, Par Leso is not perfect, but it was perfect was us. We want to sleep under the stars, rocked gently by the ocean and cool sea breeze on our faces. We can get 5 star resort comfort elsewhere. Thank you Divers Paradise Komodo, Albert, Marian and your staff for the unforgettable dive trip and the highlight of our scuba...
