Hi! I finally took the time to write this because I felt it was very important for others to know.|I stayed at The St. Regis Jakarta on May 14, 2025, for one night to celebrate my birthday. I will try to share every detail, and I apologize if I miss anything or forget the names of some staff members. Everyone was incredibly helpful. Truly, everyone—whether front-line or behind the scenes.|I had heard that The St. Regis Jakarta is known for its exceptional service, and thanks to the outstanding service I previously experienced at J.J.A, I decided to spend my birthday here. It was absolutely the right choice.|From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. The iconic lobby, smooth check-in process, responsive concierge, refreshing welcome drink and towel. All made me feel pampered from the start. Thank you to the team on duty for such a warm welcome.|Mr. Yogi Priatna then gave me a hotel tour, sharing fascinating stories and the history of The St. Regis Jakarta, which made the experience even more special. When we reached the room, the suitcase was already neatly placed, and I was surprised with birthday decorations and a beautifully presented cake. Thank you so much! You truly went above and beyond. The cake was even larger than a single portion.|I was also introduced to the 24-hour butler service, including complimentary free flow coffee and tea (any style), paired with cookies or lapis legit—which was delicious!|The room and its facilities felt premium and luxurious. There was even a pillow menu, double-glazed glass, and a balcony. Despite being near the LRT line, the room was perfectly soundproof. Every detail was carefully prepared for comfort. It’s something that can’t be described, only experienced. I appreciate that all the materials, furniture, amenities, and toiletries you offer to guests are of the highest quality. Thank you for the wonderful experience.|The pool, gym, and spa exceeded expectations compared to other hotels. At the pool, I was offered a welcome drink and even sunscreen. Such attention to detail! At the spa, I enjoyed cookies and tea in the lounge, a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and impressively complete amenities. The shower had five water points—rain shower, handheld, and three body jets. They even provided shaved ice to help close the pores after treatments. Thank you to Mr. Hadi for your warm hospitality.|The gym also impressed me, equipped with advanced machines, a body composition scale. Thank you to the attentive staff there as well.|Then came dinner at J.J.A—what a heartfelt welcome! It truly felt like coming home. This was my first fine dining experience that felt so warm and familiar. The new menu was fantastic. I remember some of the team—Dianne, Dwi, April, Rio—and though I may have forgotten a few names, I remember your faces and friendliness. Dela and Putri, although we didn’t meet this time, thank you as well. The food was elevated in every sense—taste, presentation, and the thoughtful storytelling behind each dish. It was an unforgettable culinary experience, with premium ingredients and impeccable service.|Later at The St. Regis Bar. Wow! The Rapture Band was incredible. Thank you for the surprise! I even shared the moment on social media, it was unforgettable. Every staff member at the bar was so friendly and called me by name, even though we hadn’t met before. That level of personal attention made my birthday even more meaningful. I will definitely return just to experience the bar and Rapture again.|When I returned to the room, I was blown away by the turndown service. The room was beautifully set up for sleep, with plenty of mineral water by the bedside, bedtime chocolates, slippers and mats by the bed, replenished amenities, and bathroom mats in every corner. I didn’t meet the housekeeping staff, but please extend my gratitude—they are amazing and paid attention to every single detail.|The buffet breakfast the next morning was just as impressive. There were so many options, plus an a la carte menu to choose from. Again, the staff greeted me by name, even though we had just met. Thank you so much to the Bel Étage team and the interns—you're doing a great job!|Finally, the concierge team assisted with my luggage and made the check-out process seamless. Read moreI had an almost exceptional stay at The St. Regis Jakarta. From the moment I arrived, the service was seamless. The staff at the entrance were attentive and helped with all my luggage. Check-in took place comfortably in the café/lounge area, where a front desk staff member personally brought the check-in documents to my table—eliminating the need to go to the desk. I was then personally escorted to my room by the butler. The room itself was beautifully designed and perfectly sized—elegant yet cozy, with light-colored walls and soft blue accents that created a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom was fully clad in marble and thoughtfully laid out.
But, what truly sets The St. Regis Jakarta apart is its signature butler service, elevated by genuine Indonesian hospitality. The level of care and attention to detail from the butlers was truly exceptional. From the complimentary tea and coffee service to the thoughtful turndown touches—like a bedside rug, slippers, water, chocolates, and even a slice of cake—everything felt deeply personal. What impressed me most was the communication across departments. For example, while I was at the pool, the staff there were already aware of my request to prepare the bathtub and asked if I’d like to delay it so I could enjoy the pool longer. This kind of seamless coordination shows a level of professionalism that’s rare—even among luxury hotels with butler service. Facilities like the pool, gym, and spa hot tub were all excellent. Breakfast was generous and diverse, offering a wide variety of international and local dishes. The à la carte options, especially the steak and eggs and the Eggs Royale, were outstanding.
However, there are a few significant shortcomings that need to be addressed. First, the absence of a double vanity detracts from the sense of grandeur expected at this level. More critically, the lack of a smart toilet in a brand new luxury hotel is simply unforgivable. All new high-end properties in Jakarta—such as Park Hyatt and Langham—feature smart toilets as a standard, and even some older establishments have since upgraded. This is not a minor oversight; in 2025, it is a basic expectation in this category, and there is no justification for its exclusion.
Second, the fact that the hotel is housed in a renovated older building is, unfortunately, quite noticeable. There are visible imperfections—such as untidy markings near the ceiling and the walls near the ceiling by the front and bathroom doors—that compromise the overall luxury feel. Additionally, the glossy black wooden flooring near the entrance tends to appear greasy and worn over time, again undermining the premium aesthetic.
Lastly, the hotel’s policies—especially as enforced under Marriott—feel unnecessarily rigid and bureaucratic. On my first stay, I was not offered a late check-out, which I initially dismissed, assuming it might have been due to my early check-in. However, on my second stay (just two weeks later), I again arrived early and was told the room wasn’t ready. When I returned after 3PM—past official check-in time—I was still not proactively offered a late check-out, even though the property clearly wasn’t at full occupancy. I had to ask, and was granted only a 1PM check-out—hardly generous, considering that even midscale 3- or 4-star hotels often provide this as a standard courtesy. At true luxury hotels in Jakarta such as Raffles or Park Hyatt, I’ve been extended a 2PM late check-out without even being a loyalty program member, even when checking in early.
These issues are worth highlighting, not out of harshness, but out of a genuine desire to see this property live up to its potential. Feedback like this is crucial for refining guest experience—and I hope it will be taken in that spirit.

Read moreAbsolutely Amazing and Luxurious Hotel. The Iconic St. Regis Jakarta is very well known for the top premium and luxury rooms, suites and facilities. The feeling of warm hospitality is sensed as soon as you step in the hotel. The super friendly and very welcoming staff at door will guide you to the reception for check in then the reception staff will do a very quick check in process. Metropolitan Suite was beyond exceptional. Very spacious, modern, very well equipped, amazing living room, dining area, pantry, very comfortable bed room, amazing bathroom. Metropolitan Suite is very recommended to your stay to feel the luxury at its best style. Of course the rooms and other suite types that I stayed during a previous stays were amazing too. Fitness center is very well equipped with new and modern workout machines for cardio and cable workout. I really recommend trying the fitness center because it's really good. The St. Regis bar is really nice, cozy with super nice staff doing a great service to all guests at the bar and the menu is very good with good choice of food and drinks. Live band at the bar was very nice. J.J.A restaurant is a Must try, fine dining, amazing ambience, professional staff, amazing food and drinks. For your afternoon tea experience, The Drawing Room is the best place. Amazingly crafted afternoon tea experience that is very unique and well made and presented. Rose Gourmand deli is highly recommended for it's super fresh bakery items and freshly made salads and sandwiches. The very delicious breakfast was served at the restaurant Bel Etage and the service is very good. Breakfast buffet has a wide variety of foods and drinks that are well prepared and presented. I also recommend trying the wide selection of treatments available at the Spa for your relaxation and comfort during your stay. The massage was perfectly done and is very refreshing. In room dining has a very good choice of foods and drinks and the service was very fast. St. Regis Jakarta is a beyond exceptional hotel and provide the guest with an amazing experience that is very luxurious and comfortable. I really recommend St. Regis Jakarta for your stay, event, afternoon tea experience, dining, spa experience and bar night. A well deserved 5 stars...
