J.J.A. — Restaurant in Jakarta

Visited J.J.A. at St. Regis on Christmas Eve with high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience fell short and far from the elevated dining experience I anticipated.

The beef tartare resembled an Ikea coaster, and the taste was equally underwhelming. The burrata was passable, but nothing exceptional. The most traumatizing dish was the roasted chicken, which took almost an hour to arrive. It was bland, worse than hospital food; the torched rosemary overpowered everything and left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. If wine cork was a dish, then the lamb dish would be it. It lacked moisture and succulence. As for dessert, couldn’t be bothered to try any.

While I understand that it was Christmas Eve, the slow service was a significant drawback. For a restaurant within the St. Regis, one would expect better anticipation of the holiday rush and adequate staff to handle the demand. Restaurant Kuningan: Can attest that this restaurant is the most elevated cuisine in Jakarta, offering only the best and freshest ingredients and amazing cooking skill plus amazing dining experience. This restaurant which sits on the 2nd floor of St Regis Hotel Jakarta also has a gealming indoor with really beautiful decor.

Had the chance to have their Burrata from Lombok so good! then their pacific oyster with amazing sauce, lobster bisque, and the showstopper Barramundi baked in salt, and Pira Steak Ribeye. The kimchi mashed potato was really good! and the steak was great. For dessert we ordered the beautiful strawberry and the plaintain, so good!

Refined and highly attentive service paired with well executed dishes. Heard good things about the place from several foodie-friends. Most raving about it being a steakhouse. Pleasantly surprised when we found stellar seafood and vegetarian dishes in the menu. Presentation and taste were top notch.
