What a find!!! a hidden gem literally. This place is tucked up in just off the main road. Close to everything but away from any noise. It's a short walk from the beach, just barley off the main road here in Lipah. From what I’ve seen the newest building here, like brand new. One building has 2 suites (up and down stairs) each has a Queen and double, with in suite washrooms, showers patio/balcony with kitchen. The suite I’m in had a queen bed in suite washroom/shower and balcony. A refreshing pool splits the buildings where you can relax away from any noise. Wi-Fi, laundry service and even a masseuse that will come to your suite. Rooms are cleaned everyday by Sumi, a girl that lives a building over, she also looks after the pool area, towels. Aside from all that (which is pretty stellar for the cost and what I think the big difference is, IS Mark and his family. AND extended family around this area. The term for tourist here is Bule, which is what I am, what you’d be, but Mark he’s like the Bule mayor of this town. Bule doesn’t describe him well because he’s so ingrained here.
Coupled that with Inayah his wife (who’s an extraordinary baker) and his son Zidan, both from the neighbouring island of Jakarta who are quick to help with any I needed.
I feel I can’t even do it justice to describe how amazing it is here on this part of the island. There are plenty of adventure options, a 2 minute walk from Balty Bali Bungalow is the beach. A coral reef right there for snorkeling, Lipah and Amed also have many options for divers, surfers and fishing. Speaking of fish, (I’m not a fish guy) but there are plenty of restaurants in this area that serve fresh fish, Indonesian and North American food.
There are many trails in the area for hiking with some amazing views. Catch a sunrise AND sunset or just chill by the pool and walk the beach.
I liked this place so much I booked it twice, once at the start of my vacation and now at nearing the end.
Absolutely great place and...
Read moreI had a wonderful time solo travelling here. Out of this world hospitality by Mark & Inayah. Truly astounding! I didn’t feel for a second that I was away from home, and didn’t have trouble with literally anything while I was there.
Need a scooter? They have. Hikes and arranging for activities? they’ll help. Transport? they’ll drive you personally if they’re available and show you Bali along the way and make a slow 2 hour ride pass like 30 minutes and make it a fun part of the trip! And all for a standard price!
Mark took me on a beautiful hiking trip on the mountains surrounding the area. He’s a pro in navigating the place and feels like he knows everybody there! And Inayah cooked for us delicious Balinese food, and was always there to help anytime I needed anything!
The rooms were spotless. Excellent water pressure, stronger than my home lol, and it was generally very well equipped, cleanex, shampoo, plenty of towels etc. no road sound whatsoever and very good wifi. Can’t ask for more!
Don’t think twice, book it!

Read moreI was so pleasantly surprised by my accomodations at Pondok Wisata Balty Bali. What a great find! It is a small, family run business in Lipah, East Bali, right next to Amed. Everything they do there is well thought out, and straight from the heart. Inayah runs the kitchen and business. She is an awesome cook. Their Free breafasts are just delicious. She also is an extraordnary baker. So should you have an occasion, you can book an amazing cake from her. Her Husband Mark has been coming to Bali since the roads were dirt. If you express a particular interest, he will go way out of his way to realize it. Make your reservation early, because it is a small family run business. The word is definitely getting out. Rooms are clean and modern. And they have thought of everything! I can't wait till I can come back to East Bali so I can stay with them again. They treated me like Gamily. I thought the prices were quite reasonable, considering what you get. Thank you Pondok Wisata Balty Bali! I will see...
