I was really disappointed with my experience at this Warung this afternoon. I traveled specifically for their grilled fish, which had received good reviews, but the service I received was substandard and unwelcoming.
Despite only two other people being in the restaurant, the waitress ignored my signals that I was ready to order. At one point, I even questioned whether she was the waitress. When I finally did order the grilled fish, she was rude and very unhelpful.
I mentioned that I didn't feel welcome and intended to leave, which is when she finally attempted to be responsive. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but I didn't want to eat somewhere I felt unwelcome, so I left.
The place itself is nice and peaceful, with a lovely fountain. I was ready to relax and enjoy my meal, but the waitress's attitude ruined the experience. In the seven months I've been here, this is the first time I've felt unwelcome in a restaurant.
Fortunately, there are other nearby restaurants with friendly service. It's unfortunate that my experience was so negative because I really liked the atmosphere when I first sat down. Customer service matters, and in this case, it left a bitter taste...
Read moreoverall this is worth the money you spend. I can only talk about the foods and drinks that we ordered. Banana milkshake: my bf stated that this is the best banana milkshake he has had in Bali. Vanilla milkshake: i love it but the banana one is better. Iced coffee: basically Americano with sugar, not my taste. Also, the coffee powder still floating around. Chicken tutu (see pic, one chicken leg already in my stomach): you have to order this the day before and it's totally mind-blowing. I highly recommend this menu. Ask them for 'ayam kampung' for a better quality. (ayam kampung is a non-broiler chicken, save you from additional fattening hormone). This menu comes with a plate of local salad and 2 sets of rice. Squid with garlic butter: love it. Seafood platter: overall it's good. Original menu comes with mahi-mahi fish which I'm not a fan of. So I asked them to change the mahi-mahi with snapper (price was increased by 1.5 euro which's worth it). The batter for the calamari should be improved. And for the prawn, they cooked it a little...
Read moreHonestly the best Warung we’ve been to in Bali, and for sure better than many restaurants serving western food. It is 100% worth coming here for the food even if you need to take a scooter from the center of Amed. The kitchen is super clean. We came here multiple times during our stay. We had salad, fresh fruit and juices along with our main course and never had any sort of stomach issues. The fish is fresh and had a great coconut flavored topping, the filled squid is to die for. Best Balinese food we had so far. And on top of all, prices are super super fair.
Only one small downside: The restaurant lies at the „Main Street“ so traffic can be a bit noisy depending on what time of the day you’re there. But it didn’t...
