Ini Vie Villa Seminyak by iNi Vie Hospitality — Hotel in Kuta

I have mixed feelings about my stay here. I chose it as a place to stay to rest and refresh after a difficult couple of years personally. I paid a premium i.e. Perth prices - almost $300.00 AUD per night for 10 nights.|As a solo female traveller (64 years old) I found several things of concern early in my stay - the villa was not secure - there was no lock from the pool area into the living area/bedroom. Also the villa was dated and in need of renovation - electrical outlets are few. General cleanliness was poor. Taps, mirrors and kitchenette were not to standard for tariff.|I have to say that the staff were very attentive and addressed every question. The problem was that those questions should not have arisen. Basic cleanliness and safety should be a given for that rate. I stayed last year at a Mercure hotel for a third of the price and it was spotless. I had to ask for a lock on the bathroom door and the pool to be cleaned - again something that should not have required asking for. It was done quickly, but disappointing you have to ask. The jacuzzi was also very dirty especially around the jets. Mine did not drain which the mosquitoes loved.|Location wise it is quiet or would be if there as no building going on next door. It can be quite disconcerting when you’re in the bathroom and can see workers on the roof next door….not the fault of Ini vie though.|I agree with other comments- the surrounding area is quite derelict and I did not feel safe going out in the evenings. Grab and Gojek were great apps - if you don’t mind your food being tepid when it arrives. The villa had a microwave, so problem solved.|Positives - again the staff are great, very helpful and transport can be arranged quickly and at no cost for local destinations - Legian beach, Kuta, and Garlic lane etc. I had one bad experience when trying to get to Poppies lane - the driver asked me to get out in back streets and walk… thank goodness for Google maps, but it was a bit disconcerting. It was daylight so no real dramas.|My last couple of days were a mixed bag, I had tattoos done on my last but one day and despite taking care, left marks on the sheets, so I advised the management and it cost me $30 AUD for laundry - fair enough.|Unfortunately, my last interaction was to order transport to pick me up and take me to the airport at 5.30 am. I was ready at the organised time, but no driver - cost of 200,000.00.|I ended up using Grab - cost me 40,000.00 - much better value for money, but pretty stressful when you know traffic is going to be a problem on your last trip to the airport. No comment from Ini vie but I did get my money back.|In summary, it was a good break. Did I feel I got value for money - No. Would I stay again, or recommend it to others - No. |Generally, I think future travellers could find a better experience for money. Hope this...

On the POSITIVE side|Staff are very friendly and helpful.|Aesthetically pleasing from a distance. It does look like the picture portrayed on the website.|Area is quiet and peaceful.|A nice pool (even though the tiles around the pool are either missing or cracked).|Comfortable pillows.|Air Conditioning.|Netfix.||On the NEGATIVE side|Location is awful. There are empty sites around the entrance to the Villas. Overgrown and some strewn with garbage. Looks like a garbage dump.|The Villa looks like it has not been maintained since the day it was built. It is rotting all over.|To get anywhere one needs to call a taxi.|Promises a kitchen but there are no pots and pans, no teaspoons. No condiments. It is not a functioning kitchen. If you arrive from abroad you do not expect to arrive with the basic requirements.|The crockery is cracked and chipped.|There is a water feature inside the Villa which is a mosquito breeding area.|Mirrors are provided in the bedrooms only that you can not see yourself in the mirror as they have put the TV’s covering the mirrors.|The electrical distribution board is hanging off the wall as is the shower head in the bathroom.|When you use the shower the water runs along the back of the bath and covers the bathroom floor. It is dangerous and slippery. You have to wear something on your feet. |The toilet seat was broken. |In order to use the shower you have to climb into a deep jacuzzi bathtub which is not very accessible and as an older person is a hazard.||Note – as part of the package you are entitled to a breakfast and either lunch or dinner in your villa. From our point of view the food was presented badly. Eggs on toast with sauces strewn over the top, thick and gluggy looking, and not to our taste. The sausages looked days old and shriveled up.|We stopped requesting the food after the 2nd day that we were there.||In conclusion I would NOT recommend Ini Vie Villa’s and not give them a positive review.||If it were not for the fact that we had paid upfront we would have left after...

Recently stayed at Ini Vie Villa for 6 nights, rooms were okay, not as clean as what you’d expect for the price -our feet were black from just walking around the villa, staff were lovely. Not close to anything so hiring a scooter or getting a cab everywhere is a must.

Our second last night we booked the “candlelit dinner” paired with the floating candles on the pool. The candles proceeded to float to one corner (where the filter was sucking the water) and stay there so definitely not worth the extra $$. Don’t bother.

For dinner, we had cornflour tasting mushroom soup, for main I ordered the steak and my partner ordered the snapper. The steak and veggies came out stone cold, we put them in the microwave ourself but it was still horrid, so I didn’t eat more than 5 bites. The fish came with a hair in it. Dessert was a packet dense flour cake that was zapped in the microwave -I’m sure of it.

Thinking our dinner experience couldn’t get any worse, I ended up with food poisoning from the steak for the next 24 hours. Upon checking out they expected us to fork out $150 for the meal despite our complaints.
