Disappointed with the very poor service and lack of training.
When good ramen was rare in Bali, we enjoyed Hakata Ikkousha Ramen. However, since Red Dragon opened at Dewi Sri, this restaurant has become one of our family's preferred choices for ramen in Bali.
However, yesterday, we encountered very bad service. It appears that all the employees at this outlet are still new and require training.
Upon arrival, we found no available tables indoors. An employee named Kenny informed us that a table would be available in a minimum of 15 minutes, to which we agreed to wait.
While waiting for a table, we attempted to place our food order, but the waiter named Adit refused, stating that orders could only be made once seated at a table. We complied with this policy.
Shortly after, a foreign couple arrived, and another employee named Yeni welcomed them and assisted them in entering.
We lodged a complaint, and Yeni informed us that our waiting list was not recorded, despite us waiting and being seated right in front of the entrance!
Finally, we were seated, but only after we had complained.
Upon placing our order, we specifically requested that the chocolate show ice dessert be served later for our child. And the order taker (Adit) has repeated our order.
After finishing our main course, we requested the dessert, but had to wait another 10 minutes. However, the snow ice served was not chocolate as ordered but with green and red jelly.
Once again, we expressed our dissatisfaction as we felt neglected as loyal customer.
We voiced our complaint when paying, but it was completely ignored and left unanswered.
Frankly, they have good products, but they need to provide training for their employees because their service is terrible.
Additionally, there seems to be a lack of communication among the staff, which contributes to the...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer at Red Dragon Ramen for years, and this is my updated review for the Kuta branch. I’ve also visited their Gatsu location, where you can watch the chefs craft dumplings, noodles, and broth from scratch. Having tried every item on their menu, I want to highlight my favorite: the Siro Tonkotsu Premium Ramen.
Following proper ramen etiquette, I always start with a sip of the broth, either with the provided spoon or straight from the bowl. The broth is decadent, bursting with flavor that delights my senses and lingers on my tongue. You can taste the care and time the chef invests in every bowl. The noodles are perfectly cooked, offering a chewy texture and rich flavor that leaves you craving another bite. The portions are generous, satisfying a hungry appetite, and the price is affordable. On a good day, the Iced Japanese Green Tea is phenomenal.
The service at Red Dragon Ramen is consistently excellent. The kind Japanese manager is often present, ensuring everything meets high standards, which is evident in the consistent quality across my visits.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is simple yet inviting, with music at a comfortable volume, making conversation easy. The space is cool and welcoming, enhancing the dining experience. I look forward to seeing continued success for the chef and the Red Dragon Ramen...
Read moreIt could have been a perfect experience!!
Original Tonkotsu ramen: The broth was as creamy and rich as I expected! From the texture of the noodles, the crunchiness of the greens and the tenderness of the pork. Everything from my bowl of ramen was spot on! Hands down!! it could be one of the best ramen on the island.
I like the ambience, it reminds me of that little store that I have visited in Saitama in japan. Though without the smells of the warm sake haha.
Lastly the price is so affordable, like you could never get such a great ramen with this price point.
However:
There was a complimentary item that could be ruining the taste of the ramen. I asked the waiter what it was. And she said it’s a “crunchy garlic”. It’s basically just a fried garlic covered with flour. But It wasn’t crunchy at all, instead it was just stuck all over my teeth. I told her that but she was just smiling.
Dessert: It was actually disappointing when you have such a high standard on the main course (ramen) but the dessert was actually (could be) ruining the whole experience. The texture of the ice cream was a mess. It’s more like shredded ice cube with vanilla flavored and that chocolate jelly on top was tasteless. I won’t comeback for the dessert unless there would be an improvement.
But for sure I’ll come back for the...
