Read moreI recently visited Uncle Pipin and it turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve had in a while. From the moment you walk in, the place feels warm, cozy, and definitely aesthetic a perfect spot not only to enjoy a good meal but also to take some nice photos with friends.
For the food, I tried the jamian and it instantly became my favorite. The noodles were cooked to perfection chewy yet soft, with a savory and slightly sweet flavor that was incredibly satisfying. The seasoning was just right, not overpowering, and every bite felt comforting. It’s one of those dishes that you immediately know you’ll come back for. Alongside that, I also ordered the fried seafood kwetiaw. This dish was another winner. The noodles had that signature smoky “wok hei” taste, and the seafood was fresh and flavorful, giving the whole plate a perfect balance of texture and taste.
To complement the meal, I had their latte made with 100% Arabica beans. It was smooth, aromatic, and a great way to round out the experience. I also tried their Liong tea, which was light and refreshing perfect if you’re looking for something non-coffee.
What really makes Uncle Pipin stand out is not only the quality of the food but also the price. For the level of taste and presentation, everything is surprisingly affordable, making it a great value. Friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere just make it even better. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to, and highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food with an...
Read moreLovely place, lovely people, lovely food.
This place is where I would go for comfort food.
I ordered the Bubur Komplit. It's not just any porridge but singkawang porridge. My first time eating it and I am glad I ate it here.
Despite its appearance, the porridge was not at all uncomfortably heavy in the stomach. It's warm, combines well with the ingredients in it (pork, crunchy krupuk, and seafood like prawn and fish).
To people who are used to plain porridge, the combination may look a bit much. I thought so too at first, but I enjoyed it. No fishiness at all. The porridge was just watery enough but still retain the texture of the rice.
And it settled well after I ate it. Warm and filling. Perfect for breakfast to start your day with.
You can adjust the taste accordingly with pepper or soy sauce.
As for the drink I ordered Uncle Pipin special coffee. It only comes iced. The coffee taste was distinct and since I asked to reduce the sweetness it's just perfect.
All in all, a place where I'd make a repeat visit. Their specialty is their Noodle so thats next on my list.
Service was very good. Everyone was very friendly. The place is clean. Spacious enough. Parking available in front of the shop but if it's full you can park on the...
