We really liked our stay at Pondok Krishna Poppies! :)
My girlfriend and I booked our first week via AirBnB and then extended 2 additional weeks because we liked it so much.
The room had everything we needed. A big comfortable bed, 4 great quality pillows, A/C, plenty of daylight, TV with Netflix and a private bathroom. Our room was thoroughly cleaned every 3 days (or upon request).
It's super close by to everything. 5 minutes walk to the beach, 3 minutes walk to the party street (if you are into that), our favourite warung "Warung Indonesia" was also something like 3 minutes by foot. Massages in this area were the best quality/price we found so far. Socializing with others outside the homestay was also effortless.
Also important to mention: while it's so close to everything, when you are in the homestay, you don't hear anything at all from the city-life. We liked the water flowing (just, please put smaller fishes in the pond so they have more space to live and swim happily 🙏 the big koï fishes are beautiful, but would be so much happier in a bigger pond).
Extra things that were nice and unexpected: some decent gym equipment to use, a big shared fridge to store some items in, some snacks all day long (toast bread with toppings and fresh bananas) and affordable laundry service.
Last but not least: Made, her family and staff are all very friendly, hospital people. Whenever we needed something, Made was there for us.
We came from crowded and overpriced Canggu - here everything was so much cheaper and convenient. No need to have a motorcycle here, we walked everything.
If we'll ever come back to Kuta, we'll definitely come back to Made's...

Tho there were some issues when I was staying there. The rooster was so loud it woke me up every morning and sometimes at 4/5 am when im still trying to sleep, so i had to sleep with headphones on but it hurts my ear, then I decided to sleep with a loud rain sound from my ipad only to get the host thinking i might have a water dispenser in my room.
Sometimes there's a water leakage, at first it was from my bathroom. Second time it wasn't. One of the owner knocked on my door to ask if there's a water flowing in my bathroom, i said no. And instead of saying excuse me or "may i take a look" , he just barged in to my room and went inside my bathroom. It was very uncomfortable.
This one is not really a big deal but it made me confuse. When i was checking the place, the lady told me that they will change the sheets every two weeks. I waited a whole month and I had to ask them when i can change the sheets. They told me they're gonna bring them to my room and i change it myself (i actually dont mind) but again, she told me before that they're the ones that's gonna change it(?). Not only that, i waited 2 days for the sheets only to ask them again and they told me to take it myself from the front office. (Again, not a big deal. But very confusing)
But other than that they are actually nice. When im moving out, the lady helped me with my...
Read moreWe were staying in Kuta for two nights before a ferry to the islands and this guesthouse was perfect for us - it’s located in the heart of all the shopping, 5-10 mins walk from the beach and surrounded by restaurants and bars. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, the room was clean and had air con, and the banana pancakes for brekkie were awesome! Taxi driver found it easily from the airport, but did call the reception to double check as there are two Pondok Krishna’s in the neighbourhood so watch out! It’s down a little alley off Poppies Lane 2, but only about 30 metres and feels totally safe. The ferry company to Gili T even organised a pick up for us from the guesthouse early in the morning. Would definitely recommend for a cheap and comfortable...
