I recently had the misfortune of staying at Bhuwana Ubud Hotel in Ubud, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. If you're looking for a hotel that offers basic amenities and a pleasant stay, I strongly urge you to avoid this establishment at all costs. From the moment I stepped foot onto the premises, I was greeted with disappointment and frustration.
One of the most glaring issues at Bhuwana Ubud Hotel is the abysmal lighting in the pathways. It seems like the management couldn't be bothered to invest in proper lighting fixtures, as the entire hotel was cloaked in darkness. Navigating the pathways became a treacherous task, with the dim lighting making it nearly impossible to see where I was going. This lack of illumination not only posed a safety hazard but also contributed to an overall eerie and unwelcoming atmosphere.
Adding insult to injury, the service provided by the staff was shockingly subpar. Their lack of friendliness and attentiveness was astounding. It was as if they had undergone training on how to be unhelpful and disinterested in guests' needs. Requests for assistance were met with indifference and even reluctance, leaving me feeling frustrated and unsupported throughout my stay. The staff's blatant disregard for customer satisfaction is simply unacceptable.
Furthermore, the breakfast situation at Bhuwana Ubud Hotel was a complete disaster. Contrary to what one would expect from a reputable hotel, the breakfast options were severely limited. Instead of a buffet breakfast with a variety of choices, guests were subjected to a lackluster la carte menu with an extremely limited selection. It was a far cry from a satisfying breakfast experience and left me craving more substantial options. The hotel's inability to provide a decent breakfast only added to the disappointment of my overall stay.
In conclusion, I strongly caution against choosing Bhuwana Ubud Hotel for your stay in Ubud. The dimly lit pathways pose a safety hazard, the staff's lackluster service is infuriating, and the woefully inadequate breakfast options are simply unacceptable. Save yourself the headache and seek alternative accommodations that prioritize guest satisfaction and provide a pleasant and well-lit environment. Read moreI originally booked for one week, but I extended my stay for 3 more weeks, because it was amazing. It is secluded and away from the main roads, so there is not a lot of street noise like some other hotels, and it makes it so peaceful. I will go back for sure!||You can walk up the little road for 5-10 minutes on the left, and you will find some restaurants and even a day club not too far (20-25 min. walk). So, if you want to go to somewhere else and in the center of Ubud, you will need a scooter or a scooter taxi like Grap or GoJek.||I felt like I was in a small resort there, everything was so pretty and peaceful. The pool, the pool chairs and the umbrellas were perfect too (and everything was very clean). ||The service was also amazing. Everyone there was so nice and very helpful. The level of service I experienced was next level. I have a special place in my heart for the ladies who work at the restaurant: Komang ayu, Komang sapitri, Rai and Komang arnadi; their attention to details, their kindness and their level of service were some of the best I ever had.| |The food at the restaurant was good and affordable. The breakfast was by far the best, all the items I tried were amazing. The best breakfast of all my hotels in Bali in my opinion. The fresh fruits, the egg benedict, the avocado egg toas, everything was just perfect! ||The room was very clean, but, because you are so close to nature, there are some little ants trying to get into the room and sometimes they succeed. I never had any bug problem in my room, just be aware that in Ubud, in hotels that are in the jungle, you will see some ants, spiders and geckos and sometimes they do get in the room. I want to mention this because it is normal in tropical places to see bugs and somehow, some travelers don’t expect that. ||For the Internet connection, the Wi-Fi was not the best in my room, but I was able to do some computer work. For video calls, I went to the Outpost Coworking space (5-10 min....
Read moreWe booked our rooms by visiting the hotel after a horrible night's stay elsewhere in Ubud - we were BLOWN AWAY by Bhuwana! It is located in a secluded and quiet part of Ubud. The main town is only about 3km away, but 30 min in traffic (or more). However, if you walk out of the hotel and turn left, there is a lovely pizza shop and convenience store up the hill - very easy to walk to.
The swimming pool at Bhuwana was AMAZING! It was big, clean and even had a swim up bar (not deep). The kids spent most of their time there. There was a very shallow section for younger children, then a bigger section for your more confident swimmers. There was even a little waterfall in the pool.
The food offered at the restaurant was fantastic! We actually spent a lot of time eating at the restaurant. The breakfast offered was always great - and each room received 'sides' which included croissants, pancakes, toasts, granola and fresh fruit! This was always enough to feed the kids. The kids loved the penne pasta, burgers, crumbed fish, chips. Us adults enjoyed the restaurant's fish, duck and tom yum dishes. On the occasions where the children wanted different food, we would walk a couple of metre up the hill to grab some pizzas which the hotel were fine with.
The staff, especially the lovely ladies at the restaurant, were always so pleasant to engage with. They were helpful with advice about travelling, and enjoyed having chats with us.
Our rooms were wonderfully air conditioned and clean! The size of the TV in our room was great for movie nights to unwind.
We had massages at the hotel which was very relaxing.
Although it seemed like an occupied hotel, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. 5 nights stay here was perfect for us.
They're currently building extra villas with a small infinity pool. I would love to go back and stay there!
5 stars - we would definitely...
