The good:|The hotel is new, clean, and generally pleasant.|Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.|Breakfast tastes good (great for a short stay).|Rooftop pool area is pretty and comfortable for a couple of visits.||Where it falls short:|This property simply doesn’t meet five-star resort standards. If you arrive expecting luxury-resort service and amenities, you’ll likely be disappointed. As a four-star hotel, it’s fine—I understand why many guests enjoy it at this price point.||Rooms & amenities:|Modern and spotless, but realistically sized for one person unless you book a suite. Space is very limited:| • Sliding bathroom doors offer minimal privacy and almost no sound isolation.| • The sink island has barely any counter space; it’s only suitable for one person.| • The wardrobe is tiny and oddly located in the bathroom.| • No proper, well-lit bathroom mirror (the sliding-door mirrors have poor lighting).| • Nowhere sensible to place 2 suitcases.| • Weak soundproofing: in my 5th-floor, pool-facing room I could hear morning noise by the pool.| • Surprisingly, there’s no beach bag provided—a small but telling miss that you’d typically expect at a five-star resort in Bali.||Spa & massage:|There is no real spa complex. My massage (which was fine) took place in a spare guest room on a regular bed, and the room had an unpleasant smell. For a “5-star resort,” that’s surprising. We ended up using the spa at Regent, which was excellent.||Breakfast & service:|Tasty, but gets repetitive if you’re here for more than a few days. Service at breakfast is slow—cooked orders take a long time, and it feels understaffed. If breakfast is included, great; I wouldn’t pay extra for it.||Rooftop bar & F&B:|Lovely spot to sit in the evening, but the offering is extremely limited: almost no wine selection (no rosé at all) and several classic cocktails weren’t available (no Moscow Mule, no Gin Basil, etc.). We were told last orders were at 21:30. For a property that calls itself a “Resort,” having only one bar and closing it that early is frankly baffling—a resort implies you don’t need to leave the property to enjoy your evening. Being able to sit at a bar under the stars should be a given, yet here it’s essentially unavailable.|When we asked reception if we could go to the neighboring Regent, we were told we wouldn’t be let in—yet we later learned their Beach House was open until 23:00 and expecting guests. We also asked for nearby bar suggestions and were told they didn’t know, even though Sazón (a Regent venue with a proper bar) is in the same building. Either the receptionist was very new, or something is off with how information is shared. Holiday Inn and Regent both are owned by IHG, so it’s very strange…||Value & upgrades:|We were offered a 19-day upgrade to a suite for an additional €5,000. Considering what we’d already paid, that didn’t feel worth it. For a similar overall price, you can book a suite at other properties (e.g., COMO Uma Canggu).||Bottom line:|Come here with four-star expectations and you’ll likely be satisfied: it’s a good, clean, fairly priced hotel with kind staff. But despite the “Resort” name, it’s not luxury, and I wouldn’t call it a five-star resort. For short stays, it’s perfectly fine. For longer trips where space, spa facilities, evening bar options, Beach access, and thoughtful extras (like a beach bag) matter, consider booking elsewhere—or manage expectations...
Read moreI am very delighted to have an opportunity to write a review about this great brand new ultra modern property. I had the pleasure of staying 1 night (15th August - 16th August) at Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. I made a very last minute reservation at 7Am on the 15th August and sent an email for early check in and possible upgrade. From reservation to check in is just hardly a few hours. I never thought I would get a reply. To my surprise I got such a welcoming reply (Personalized welcoming message from General manager Mr. Ankit Airon and Mr. Abdillah Syarief - Duty Manager & Loyalty Champion) with an upgrade and early check in. I was deeply impressed and moved by the great coordination and welcoming attitude. From the moment I sent a mail about my reservation until the end of the stay, the service was impeccable and always exceeded my expectations.
Mr. Ankit Airon took an effort to meet and spent nearly 30 minutes talking about various things. It was such a nice conversation and I learnt many things including his profound lengthy diversified multicultural experience. He is doing an incredible job and a great asset to this property.
The entire staff (literally everyone - I wish I knew the whole list of names to cite here) was incredibly welcoming, attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. Many thanks again for the delicious chocolates and special cake. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. It was a really thoughtful, personalized and nice gesture.
My booking was generously upgraded to an ocean view king room with some stunning views on the top most floor. I must confess that I have never ever seen any other hotel like this and it is very exemplary.
The spacious layout, comfortable beds, and thoughtful amenities made our stay exceptionally comfortable. The room was very luxurious with a perfect blend of style and functionality. The views were breathtaking, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation and fun. It was a fantastic spot to unwind after a day of exploring the city.
Breakfast was simply the best with a range of choices including a la carte menu. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding, catering to all tastes and preferences. Fresh fruits, delicious pastries, and made-to-order dishes ensured that every morning started on a high note. The staff at breakfast were very attentive and super hospitable.
Overall, Holiday inn Resort Bali Canggu offers an extraordinary experience with amazing service, luxurious accommodations, and top-notch amenities. This property has a character. It's the perfect choice for families and anyone looking to enjoy the best of Bali in comfort and style.
Many thanks once again for the unforgettable stay and showing us real care and luxury. I am happy and proud to be a part of the IHG Family. I wish everyone only the best.
With respectful regards and well wishes,

Read moreThis is really difficult as I rarely write critical reviews - especially on holiday. I think there are a lot of issues that haven't been mentioned yet because the hotel is so new and the staff are amazingly friendly (which sometimes makes it hard to give an unbiased review - you don't want to hurt good people's feelings and you decide to overlook items).
Anyways, I thought it would be helpful for me to write in more detail for future guest benefit as well as the owner/senior management.
Briefly, here are the Pros: Lovely, new property a 3 minute walk to the beach. Great breakfast, especially for a Holiday Inn Resort.Amazing staff as mentioned. They are so kind and sweet. The hotel is blessed to have them
Cons: I think there are more cons than pro's at this time and at this price point. Not so much in the hard product - it's very beautiful, new, and without typical wear and tear - but the soft product is really lacking and sticks out. I thought I would share some of these:
Check-in issue. I thought it was strange when the staff was handwriting and totally numbers manually. Then the credit card terminal was not working with the card I had on deposit. I put it on an alternative but was disappointed. Fortunately, the night auditor reviewed and fixed it. In the morning they apologized and said they were getting new machines.
Rooms are again beautifully built but pretty sparse - no bathrobes available, for example. All Dove products which is fine (and it might be a requirement through their licensing agreement) but there’s a great opportunity to use Indonesian products that could also be sold. Only one chair on the balcony. Fridge but no mini bar.
Noise. I don't think this was mentioned much. Our rooms were on 5th floor but above their new construction facing the street. It's loud in the day time as well as at night with people driving with loud motos. There is nothing the hotel can do about this and I don't fault them. But I would recommend prospective guests avoid facing the street and look for something further north if they are noise sensitive.
Property Not Ready - Kid Club in Particular. I do agree sometimes it's best to just "get going" even if everything is not perfect. But if that's a significant reason for your booking I'd suggest going somewhere else. It's not listed as closed on their website but you do receive an email that mentions its not quite ready...however it is also advertised in the attachment they send you with things to do.
In summary it was an acceptable stay. But for the way the property was hyped and the amount we paid I was very disappointed. I wouldn't book here again or recommend it to others at this time. Hopefully, however, the hotel will age well and I do wish the staff who are amazing...
