Lubdhaka Canggu — Hotel in Pulau Bali

I liked Lubdhaka initially, they have big rooms with good desk space away from the scooter noise on Batu Bolong road.||The price is good and the tropical garden like feel is almost magical.||||I was going to stay here for a month but left early they have a serous rodent problem and are not addressing it (like many cheap places in Bali).||I stayed on both sides of the complex and from around 11pm-5am rats are in the ceilings banging around. It was enough to wake me 2 or 3 times every single night even with quality earplugs in.||||It got to a stage where I was thinking ‘I wonder what time they will turn up tonight?’||There is a big garbage drop off at the front so that’s probably what the rodents feed on.||When I brought this up with the main manager he was very evasive and said ‘maybe it was a cat?’ Laughable really.||One night around 2am a rat was making noise inside my aircon unit, I had to get a member of staff to help get rid of it. This member of staff confirmed the rat problem.||||Lubdhaka has dog issues too with many stray dogs that hang out directly in front. The brown dog was particularly aggressive which was alwaysa concern.||The left side Lubdhaka rooms (11-20) all suffer from dogs barking in the neighbouring villa too. I had to move rooms due to this problem as it was impossible to work when they were barking.||||The other staff members always looked bored and were glued to their phones most of the time. I didnt mind this as the room rates were cheap.||||Lubdhaka scooter rentals were a rip off at 60k per day flat rate. I ended up getting a bike for 700k for a month nearby which is the normal going rate.||It’s 2.6km to Batu Bolong beach so you need 2 wheels if you stay here.||||I wasn’t going to write this review as I don’t like being negative, but I feel future guests should be warned about the rodent and dog problems before staying here. ||||These issues are clearly not being addressed and I’d never have stayed knowing...

Flexible check in hours, nice greenery, cute balcony, smiling staff, free parking. Room is specious and this place has a lot of potential. Why I am giving 2 stars is because there is huge work to be done in this place to improve quality of stay and service. Fridge has mold inside. Bathroom has stains everywhere on the floor, sink and toilet, they can probably be removed with deep cleaning. Shower curtain used to be there now there is nothing, also there is no mop to clean the floor from water. There is no hand soap provided and when I asked for it they replied to me they dont have it. On the other hand they provided disposable toothbrush. There is only one big towel provided no hand towel. Sheets and towels are full of stains. There is a nest of ants and ants are everywhere. There is mold in the bathroom too and I got sick after 3 days of stay here because of it. Our stay included breakfast. From all the options only 3 were available and incomplete. There was only eggs, one piece of bread and butter. When i asked why again same answer they don’t have it anymore. Stayed for three nights at this hotel. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The rooms are really spacious and clean. Bathroom is fine and has hot water in the shower. The room includes a fridge, kettle, tea/coffee and a good selection of programs in English on TV. The bed is large and comfortable. Plus the outdoor seating area is brilliant. Breakfast was good - had an option for vegans which was nice (fried rice, fresh fruit, fruit smoothie and tea/coffee). Alternatively they have your standard eggs, bacon, toast option too. You can rent a motorbike from them for 60k for 24hrs which we thought was good. No issues with the bikes at all and helmets were provided. We also organised an early morning car (6am) to take us to the airport for 200k which to us seemed reasonable. The last thing we wanted to do was stress about taxis so having something pre-booked was a good option. There is a supermarket about a 5 min walk from the hotel where you can buy everything you may need. And next door is a place called Cassava (not part of the hotel, it’s a cafe) which has a pool if you want to use it and chill with some food. I would definitely come back and...
