Purnama Guesthouse Canggu — Hotel in Pulau Bali

Didn’t have any issues with the place. Had a private bathroom but it was kinda outside (wall enclosed bathroom with no roof) was somewhat cool. The only wall plug in the room is across from the bed but we were mostly out so it wasn’t an issue.

The electricity went out the first day for a bit and a backup generator kicked in pretty quickly but because it was running low the ac was pretty dead for a few hours and the room was quite hot. The owner gave us a fan which helped a bit. After a few hours the normal electricity came back on and we didn’t gave any issues for the rest of the stay.

Place is generally very quiet and out of the way. Only 4 min walk to the beach.

We stayed two nights at Purnama Guesthouse while soaking in the laid-back vibes of Canggu — a fun area packed with surf schools, cool cafés, surf shops, and a great mix of expats and tourists.

The guesthouse was peaceful and clean, with a nicely maintained garden that added a touch of tropical charm. Our room was spacious and airy — basic amenities, but comfy enough for a good rest after long days out. It was a great base to explore the area.

While staying here, we also ventured out to other parts of Bali like Sanur and Uluwatu, where we caught the amazing Kecak dance at sunset and enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner by the ocean.

Really good value for the money; very clean, good sized room, hot water with pressure and 3 minutes walk to the beach. Two well equipped kitchens are available to make whichever meals you wish to. Quiet, relaxing gardens so a nice view from your terrace. We originally booked 3 nights then extended our stay for 2 more as it was a relaxing place, perfect location and is great value. Jalan Nalayan is a quiet street with lots of local warungs nearby to eat at and the delicious Recovery Room is nextdoor.
