after reading mixed reviews I decided to finally give this place a try for myself..
my experience was mainly great but a few things to note...yes was def needing to get staff attention to get my food order...the smoothie choc peanut butter bowl was smooth delicious and perfect serving as its a tad on the richer side as the peanut butter and choco were exquisite tastes and thick and creamy..i then decided to add to my order as i also got a green juice...while waiting for my rice paper rolls.. i had a staff member come up asking me to pay my bill..personally i have never had this happen mid way through my service..there is a difference of pay and order at counter but unless it is closing time for place then it makes sense to pay after all completed... so to my disappointment ..i tried to eat the rice paper rolls but it became a big mess.. firstly all the rolls were starting to seep liquid and i believe its from the shredded cabbage and not sure if there was liquid on it but i failed on me as firstly the liquid made the rolls stick to the banana leaf and tear and fall apart and there was quite a lot of liquid so not sure if you need to really look at this more as there is an art to rice paper rolls and them being soaked is def not good for a customer attempting to eat ...i had raised it with staff but they didn't quite comprehend until i showed them and at that point once a meal like that is messy i am not keen to repeat and give the next one a go....they tried a little too hard to compensate and i just requested to please cancel that part of my order ....the staff also tried to once again compensate on my exit but i was not really wanting to walk out in rain with a huge coconut with straw after also having a green juice. I appreciated the attention but yeah shame the last part of my experience kinda let me down. I love rice paper rolls and usaully they are intact and easy to handle. The menu looked great and maybe i should have got the green veggies bowl. Lets see if i give it...
Read more1 name… Rima!
I lived in Pererenan a few years ago for a little over a year and needed to go back to the Americas for my good friend’s wedding which turned into teaching yoga in Tulum. But, before I left, I visited this restaurant and the yoga facilities regularly. Rima was always a must-see as she brightened my day with her essence and Daniel was a pleasure to chat with. I came for the food and yoga but found myself looking to stay a bit longer than planned to be with Rima and here staff.
Fast forward a few months back when I returned to Canggu. I had to go back to Serenity. I wanted to say hi to two people… Rima and Daniel. Daniel was there just 2 days before I came and had passed. That was a very sad moment for me. Rima was there and she carried his love and essence for the integrity of the restaurant and businesses mission. I found comfort in her still being there and knowing that a family and friendly face was in the building.
I visited a couple of weeks ago ordered the greek salad and fruit. I took the fruit home and found an issue with my fruit. I could’ve written a disastrous review but I knew that as soon as I saw Rima that she would fix it. Another person saw me before and asked me where I’d been and I mentioned the problem to him and he blamed it on me. It was weird and had I not known that Rima would be there-that particular manager’s reaction would’ve certainly caused a devastating review and my never returning to the building.
But, Rima. I saw her and let her know what the situation was. She took time to explain how my situation could’ve occurred and the internal processes that are taken in an effort to prevent these experiences. On one hand I was blamed, with Rima I was validated and reassured that every possible measure was taken to prevent what I experienced and know that it happened.
I was given tea and a replacement of my fruit, a hug from a friend. Don’t go if Rima is not there. She makes the experience worth returning over...
Read moreFinally some real healthy food THAT TASTES AMAZING! This is the healthiest place I've found yet in the area. First I got the coconut curry (it's pretty spicy). It was very good considering it's not all full of bad oils. I also got the potatoes with the sauces. My only complaint would be everything needed salt. But I like a lot of salt... Next day I tried the lasagna and sushi rolls, watermelon juice, strawberry ice cream. It's all amazing! The watermelon juice is actually very very sweet unlike most watermelon juice! Lasagna is my favorite dish so far! So it's all great pending what your in the mood for, but the lasagna has the most flavors and is the richest. I also got a pineapple juice with a bamboo straw. Quality juicing without big chunks! After eating I feel refreshed, and not heavy, or inflamed, or bloated which is the typical feeling when eating elsewhere. If you care about how you feel and longevity then this will be your new spot! I like the people here. They seem loyal for good reason! It's in a great spot. They have much more things here too like the massages, yogo... And bunch of other stuff. FANTASTIC PLACE!
Edit: the mashed avocado toast is great. I wouldn't have thought to make it like they make it, buts it's actually delicious. New...
