The staff are great and helpful. But sadly, this is really the worst hotel I have stayed before in over more than 100 hotels that I have stayed and I been visiting Bali for the past 20 years. We stayed at the rooftop seaview cabana. It is a 3 storeys stand alone small building. While descriptions says 96 sqm in size, the actual usable tiny space is just the awkward and tight first storey where is a bed and a tv. There is no space for any big luggages if you have any. The space is so tight that’s no sofa or even a tiny chair. The space on level 1 is just about 20 sqm. Going up the very narrow stair case leads to level 2 which is the most ridiculous toliet that we have seen before. It is essentially a glass house which is super hot in the day as it is 360 degrees all glass panels. And the heat continues to retain to the night and going to level 2 to use the Toliet is always a pain as I would be sweating even when brushing teeth. No, there is no air con at all on this level 2 glass house Toliet. So we essentially try to avoid going to the Toliet unless our bladder is bursting. The 3rd level is just a bare rooftop with 2 bean bags with no use at all. There is only one pool at the hotel and it is the most awkward design. It is small, right by the reception and there is zero deck chair for you to lie on or even a chair to sit on. So I have to leave my clothes and towel on the dirty floor beside the pool and swim. I gave up after 10 minutes as it was so awkward, and a lady that came after me gave up in 10 second. I think the key problem is really the designer who didn’t think about how to design the room and also a functional pool. It is a lovely plot of land near the beach. So it is really a shame. And to add salt to wound, there is a huge constructions beside the hotel, it is impossible to sleep in as they start drilling about 9am. As you consoled yourself to wake up early for the breakfast, the breakfast turns out to be the saddest smallest portion for any hotel breakfast possible. And taste is bad. They actually made you decide on what you want for breakfast the moment you check in and you would think they give them ample time to prepare something decent. But we are so wrong. There are much better hotels at this price and frankly even if this is free I won’t stay here again. All in a very...
Read moreIf you want to spoil your vacation, go to this hotel! At first you will be deceived with the price: the price is indicated on the website, but as soon as you arrive it will increase by one million rupees. no comment, pay not 4,700,000, but 5,600,600 rupees. breakfast costs 300 thousand rupees for two, and for this money you will be served 4 pieces of stale toast bread, 2 packs of butter, as well as 3 pieces of papaya, melon and watermelon, which are cut with a dirty knife and you can taste other food. Instead of fresh juice, you will be brought water in which pieces of melon float, and half of a small milk jug will be brought to the diluted coffee, which is not enough for one person per cup. All this will take about 30 minutes, after which the most interesting thing begins: for another 30 minutes you will look into the void and wait for the main dish from the menu. After an hour of your arrival, you will be served unroasted waffles, almost raw dough and without ice cream and berries, which are stated in the menu. To the just indignation, the administrator will roll his eyes and say that actually they still have a construction site and they have just opened. All I hear in this is: Be patient, miserable Europeans. Skip the good waves and take a surf lesson on the good waves. Our hotel doesn't care about you. The corpse of this cockroach lived with us for 3 days, and in the second photo there is a glass after cleaning. Judge the quality of the cleaning yourself. And besides that, cockroaches and any other living creatures really run around the room, no one will help you with this. Haven't you figured it out yet? No one is interested in you and your problems here. Survive. Sweaty, half-naked workers walk around the hotel, making noise, building, talking loudly in the morning. There are no sun beds by the pool, beach towels are not provided. A dark narrow street leads to the hotel, which is scary at night, rats run along it. Tea and coffee and sugar are not replenished in the room. 2 tea bags, 2 coffee bags, 4 sugars - for all days. Did you expect this from a brand new 5* hotel? I'm not. My 5 days of vacation were ruined by the complete unwillingness of the staff to work, work and pay attention to the client. About the...
Read moreCanggu Cabana itself was ok, staff were wonderful. However we booked through Luxury Escapes and we did not receive the package we were expecting. We paid top dollar for a food and Lux deal that we didnt really believe was up to scratch. We found the food very dissapointing, and very limited. There was a seperate Luxury Escape menu that was quite limited and often the food on that menu was not available. We thought we had booked one of the cabana rooms but ended up in a motel style room that was about 2 stars at best. The room was small, pokey, dark and my partner, child and myself all had bruises on our shins from hitting ourselves on the beds as there was limited space to move around. The bathroom amenities were never re stocked even after 5 nights. The pool only had 4 places for guests to sit, and guests needed to leave the area in order for others to sit down. We were booked and paid to stay 8 nights but by the 5th night we felt it was time to move on. On check out the staff asked us if we would like them to check with their sister hotel for a reservation, but we had already booked a private Villa (which was half the price and amazing!). The kind staff did pay the $10 au for our taxi to our new accommodation. Unfortaunately Luxury Escapes has so far let us no there is no remit on what we believed was false advertising on their behalf as we signed a paper at Canggu Cabana to say we were leaving the hotel early and denied their offer for a relocation. Anyway although this was a dissapointing Luxury Escpaes experience, Canggu Cabana staff were warm and friendly and at a much different pricepoint could be a great place to stay. It feels terrible to write such a review but when you pay close to $500 per night with Luxury Escapes it is important to know you could do so much better than what Canggu Cabana offers in Bali. The staff were lovely, massages good, location fantastic, but this place really did not meet our expectations. Avoid Luxury Escapes and do your...
