We chose REGALI VILLAS in Canggu for our four-night stay in Bali and we were wrong. We were looking for a Balinese villa-style accommodation with a private pool and REGALI VILLAS certainly is. I must admit that these villas must have been exceptional in their day, as the design and quality of the original materials suggest so, but the passing of the years and the practically zero investment in maintenance made by the owners mean that these villas are not in their best condition by any means. If you look at the photos circulating on the networks and on their website, it seems that we are looking at a luxury accommodation, but this is far from the case. The numerous comments highlighting the poor condition of the facilities confirm this. Despite their good location, the most positive thing, close to the beach, the villas are frankly run down. The thatched roofs should be replaced, there were lights that didn't work, some lamps in very poor condition should be replaced, the shower taps were in poor condition, the sun loungers by the pool were in very poor condition and did not invite use and needed replacing, the bathtub was not to be used, with fungus stains, etc. Other aspects that disappointed us were the breakfasts, served in the villas, very scarce and repetitive, served almost cold, and the poor cleanliness. The pool, which already needs emptying and a thorough cleaning, was not cleaned of leaves and insects during our entire stay. On the ceiling of the room there was a gecko-type lizard that frequently defecated on the floor of the room, a circumstance that we brought to the attention of reception. In the kitchen, outdoors, bags of food, such as potato chips, nuts, biscuits, etc., disappeared. We found out that it was not a person who had access to the villa, but rather an animal that wandered around the outdoor areas of the villa at night. The only good thing is that the price of the villas was not high. The same villas in a proper state of repair would surely be much more expensive. But where does this situation lead if the owners continue not to invest in the facilities…? In view of all this, my recommendation to the traveller looking for this type of accommodation in Bali is not to be convinced by appearances and price and to look for other Balinese villa-type hotels that, although a little more expensive, are in adequate condition. And do not doubt that there is plenty to choose from. I am sorry to make such a negative review, but we were very disappointed.

The staff were absolutely incredible. Extremely friendly and helpful with consistency. Always smiling and they took great genuine interest in you. The Villa itself is rundown. We had a water leak and no hot water for days. 1 hot shower in the 10 day period of our stay and we lost water on the morning of the last day. They do repair things very quickly though I must say and can’t do enough for you. The outside furniture day bed cushion is thin and hard. I put a pool cushion over it to make it more comfortable. The location is fabulous, close to shops, massage spas, restaurants etc and a 10 min walk to Echo Beach. The pool was lovely but needed more care and maintenance. The main community pool was amazing but we mostly swam and cooled off in our private pool. There is a fabulous restaurant across the road Pali Rumah Joglo. We ate there just about every night and the food is so delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant. There is a do not disturb sign and room cleaning sign that you can change at the front entrance. This makes your Villa very private when you want to relax with no disturbances. The Villa was very clean and the cleaners would come in daily if you wanted them to. If the Villa had more maintenance and a furniture upgrade I would have rated it higher. I must admit the king size bed was very comfortable and we both had good a good night sleep for the 10 days we were there. Thank you to the staff who made our stay lovely.

WORST PLACE TO STAY IN BALI. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This place will ruin your vacation. If you’re looking to sleep with lizards and cockroaches in your room daily and have zero privacy and constant construction noise, you’re welcome to come and try it. This hotel should be closed by the government due to poor hygiene and safety standards. The villa doors do not fully close. Snakes and spiders can come through the gaps. The bathroom is constantly dirty and they barely clean the place. They bait you with FAKE PHOTOS and then won’t refund a dime. You’ve been warned.

Extremely rundown, nothing like the photos. The main pool was bright green and murky and unusable. The main areas are all dirty and rundown, also slippery and slimy in some areas, our kids couldn’t walk through those sections. It seemed as though the whole place had been closed for years and then reopened with little effort to restore everything.|Villas (we were in 2) have nauseating stench of urine throughout.
