Stayed two night in a two bedroom villa with pool. Two nights in this hotel is two nights too many for any traveler.||||First impression of the property were not flattering. The grounds have seen better days. The main motor court has several covered parking spots for hotel/guest cars. The roofs over half of the covered spots were either falling down or had completely fallen down.||||Then when you check in, the receptionist tells you, their Visa system is inoperable. The property was closed for COVID. It reopened in September 2021. To this day, reception is still only capable of accepting cash or local debit cards. Unless you book your stay through an online booking agency and pay the agency using your Visa card online, be prepared to pay for your stay with cash or debit card when you depart the hotel. At my insistence and over an hour of scratching their heads, they were able to figure out how to accept my Visa card, but only by running the charge through the visa system of the on site restaurant. The front desk is clueless.||||The room was nothing like the photographs online. Photographs can make any pig look attractive with enough lipstick. The hotel website advertises every room has hairdryer, toiletries, minibar and digital safe. All of which were not present in my room. When I questioned staff about it, their only response was that housekeeping had to remove the safes from each room. No reason or apology for the lack of minibar or bathroom amenities/hairdryer.||||During my stay, the phone system of the hotel had been bloken for the last month. The hotel's solution was to provide every guest with the hotel's WhatsApp number. Any requests from the room were to be directed to the WhatsApp number.||||Using WA as a temporary solution while the hotel could not figure out how to fix their phone system is great if you have a local cell phone. If not, good luck because the wi-fi access in the rooms was nonexistent or barely accessible. And when calling the WhatsApp number on the first morning to request a coffee, I had to ring the number 8 times before someone answered it. Which seemed a bit odd, because I could hear the hotel Whatsapp cell phone ringing from the patio of the villa next door to mine.||||With or out a minibar, one would expect the room to offer at least complimentary coffee and tea- just as every other hotel in the area. Well, think again! The room did have coffee cups/saucers for four people on a tray in the kitchen along with an electric tea kettle. The only problem is there was no tea, or coffee available- just a wooden box with one packed of sugar inside. I asked for coffee and creamer. I was told they did not have any from their supplier..... UNACCEPTABLE||||So every morning, I would WhattsApp the front desk and request a latte from the restaurant. Seems simple enough right? Well, not for Suarti. They had to wait for the restaurant team to arrive at 7am and then still send a waitress to the room to take the order for my latte by writing it on her food server order pad!||||And just when you thought it could not get any worse, on the second day of our stay, I unrolled one of the pool towels. To my surprise it was a beautiful plush navy blue towel from The Conrad Hotel! Suarti Boutique Village hotel is either a sister property of the Conrad or such a poorly run property that they do not realise using a towel from another property is a blatant display of theft!||||In its currents state, with the owner sitting by the pool every day drinking coffee watching her hotel crumble around her, I can not imagine you will see many reviews more flattering than mine.||||Tragic is an understatement of the condition of the property. Their lack of aptitude to operate a hotel efficiently and appropriately is sure to lead to its demise.||||Do yourself and everyone you know a favour- spread the word to AVOID Suarti Boutique Village...
Read moreAfter staying at Suarti 7 years ago I was really looking forward to staying again and had amazing memories here, unfortunately our stay was beyond disappointing. When we arrived for our 3 night stay we were told we had to pay in cash, which we had not prepared for. We were travelling with limited cash and had wise cards loaded to pay. The front of the hotel had a statue that had fallen over and filthy blinds broken and thick with dust and dirt. We were taken to our 2 bedroom jogolo where my friend almost fell through the pool deck. The pool was green with mould and you could swim in it. The deck and pool was fixed quickly on request. The rooms were filthy and had not been wiped down for a long time, with dirty marks on walls. We both questioned if our bedsheets had been changed as my friends had a spot of blood and mine smelt of a man’s perfume ( we are 2 women travellers). The bathroom was horrific covered in mould and poorly built so much so that I only showered when needed. Our front doors were broken and the lock didn’t work. The safe was my safe as we could have picked it up and walked out, carrying it in one hand. The main pool was also mouldy with many broken tiles. On my previous visit 7 years ago the menu and food choice on was amazing, with unlimited coffee at breakfast and fresh juices, peanuts on arrival. On this visit the food was 3/10 with basic choices and average service Unfortunately what was once a gorgeous, buzzing boutique hotel with amazing food and service is now delapidated, run down and in desperate need of basic maintenance. It appears that half of the village was shut down. We booked in for a body scrub and were then told there was no hot water for a ahower. From my experience this hotel would barely class as 2 star. Don’t be fooled by pics taken a long time ago. I don’t often write reviews, but was so disappointed by the whole...
Read moreI had been looking forward to this visit. The hotel is charming. The villas are just as they appear in the pictures. Bed is comfortable. The bathroom is just about ok. There were some issues with water during our stay. They would run out of water every evening and we had to call the reception. Also there are plumbing issues all over Bali, specially Ubud. The room sizes are just ok. With all that space, they could have built bigger rooms. The pool side had a lovely deck, but with heavy rains, could not sit out there. Our villa overlooked rice fields. They had Indonesian and American breakfast options and we opted for American/continental and were happy with it. The bar made nice drinks and we enjoyed that in the evening. Since we had heavy rains during our stay, we spent more time at the hotel than envisaged. Yes, it is a little outside Ubud but for me it was fine. You do need a vehicle to get into the city. But Ubud is a day city and everything closes by 8. Even restaurants close down early. You can use their shuttle to get into the city and get a taxi back from the city.| Their massage spa is absolutely wonderful. We had massage everyday. |The only downside for us was the depth of the pool with our villa, with no proper steps to get in. 5 feet deep with a single step. So if you don't know swimming and just want to relax in the pool, this is not for you. and without proper steps, you have to rely on your muscle strength to come out of the pool. which was very difficult for me. |There is a beautiful wood craft shop right outside the hotel. better than what city stores have. There is an ATM also around the corner and nice temple about 250 mts from the hotel. |Their jewelry store with beautiful jewelry designed by Madam Suarti, is amazing. I wish I could have purchased more from there but being on vacation my budget...
