Let me tell about my experience at the Momo´s hostel!||I had just arrived from a long day trip to the Palestinian territories, walked two flights of stairs, when I entered my small room I remembered I didn´t have any water left to take my sleeping pills.||So I thought should walk two flights of stairs up and down and go to the market next door, or drink from the faucet? I thought “why not” I had just read that was ok to drink water from the faucet in Israel and since that was my 3rd trip to Israel I saw no harm! boy how I was wrong!!!!!!||Next morning I woke up and went to the market to get some water, juices and things for my breakfast, when I came back my stomach started feeling a little troubled, and then started a 3day long d* fast! Three days of my s* all over. I had violent d*, like if I came back from the bathroom, it took me a minute sitting down to have another.||On the afternoon of the 3rd day I was feeling empty and soft I decided to go out and get some fresh air, when I was walking down the stairs I saw an old man who works at the hotel, and I said to him “Can you send some one to clean my room please?” and he said “yes”||I took a walk for about half an hour and when I went back to the hotel the old man was waiting by the door side for me! And he said “no one is here to clean your s” . and I said to him ”ok, give me a bucket, a mop, some towel paper and soap and I will do your job” in less then 5 min he grabbed everything I asked for, I agree no one is required to clean my s** but at least some help! I spent the next 6 hours on my knees and hands on the floor cleaning everything up. I ended up with a neck problem that was fixed 8 days later when I returned home. I couldn´t stand my head I had to hold it to look at some one!!!||I lost 2-day trips that I really wanted to do. The location is great, there are many good restaurants around, a market on the corner but I read the reviews for this hostel I think I went to...
Read moreFor the last night before our flight back home, my partner and I decided to stay in a "budget place" in Tel Aviv. We had reasonable expectations regarding the indeed competitive price per night: a simple but clean room with a double bed. We had chosen Momo's Hostel mainly because of the advertised free parking for our rental car that we could only return the next morning. Entering the hostel, the splintered glasses at the front door gave a bad first impression. The smell of cigarettes and dusty old furniture worsened this impression further in the hallway. At the reception, we were told that luckily the one parking spot of the hostel happened to be free that night -- located in a completely littered backyard, requiring us to move trash bags to the side to leave our car there. Given the very late hour of our arrival, and after some discussion, we decided to stay for the night despite the nauseous feeling already before seeing the room. We decided to leave our luggage in the car and only took the bare minimum of items with us back into the hostel. The room had an adequate size but must have been renovated the last time many decades ago, had mold in the bathroom and was overall just not clean and properly maintained. The worst thing was, however, the same repellent smell that apparently permeates every corner of the entire building. With flip-flops, we dared to take a shower, put our own towels over the pillows and eventually managed to find some hours of sleep. The included breakfast seems to consist of some toast in a plastic bag and old fruit next to it -- but even before seeing this, we decided to leave this place as soon and fast as possible. We read the other reviews here beforehand and still thought: it will be okay for one night...
Read moreWhen I was at momos not too long ago I had what has to be the very worst night of my life. The rooms were dingy, the bathroom dirty but worst of all one Middle Ages guy was molesting people in their sleep, then touching himself in his most intimate area. I spoke to the guy at the front desk about this and he wasn't bothered at all. He simply said, tell him to stop. I was shocked at his lack of caring. I went back to my room and the molester was in his bed. I pretended to go to sleep and the guy quickly got back up and continued. This time I switched the light on while he was In The act and woke up the other guys to tell them what he was doing. I went back downstairs and spoke to the guy at the desk again and after convincing he agreed to go up and talk to him. When we got to the room he simply told him to stop what he was doing and go to bed. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT, he didn't even kick the guy out for sexually molesting the other guests. Thankfully the guy had realised that he couldn't continue his molesting spree and put his trousers back on and left. He didn't even have any bag or anything with him, just his motorbike helmet.
The next day I asked for a refund for the remaining nights that I had booked at the hostel and they refused. I couldn't believe how unprofessional they were. If I could give zero stars I would.
Do yourselves a favour and don't go to this hostel, unless you feel comfortable knowing that the management turns a blind eye to physical sexual...
