The good: the place is very clean pleasant cozy overall aspect the place is well furnished (with one exception, see below) great location for skiing: ~200m walking distance to the base of a ski-lift; also close to the ski-bus station.
The bad (incl. the attitude): nothing REALLY bad, just annoying details that are actually surprising for an accommodation in this price range. windows in our room had a quality issue: an anti-draught cushion had to be placed along the window, to prevent the cold air draught; this is not acceptable at this price range. basic accommodation in this place is EXPENSIVE you are not dealing with professional providers of touristic services; instead, you are dealing with a greedy business owner who wants to make as much money as fast as possible; this leads to several unpleasant aspects... besides the high price, they will try to rip you off if/when they can: underground parking costs extra: 80 EUR/week, or (if heavy snow comes and you HAVE TO park the car inside) 20EUR/night. they own the restaurant across the street, where you get a 10% discount for lunch and dinner, but NOT also for breakfast. the heating in the ski&boots storage area sometimes only runs a small part of the time; therefore, in the morning your boots might not be as dry & warm as they could, instead just partially dried and warmed-up...
they don't treat their guests as proper CUSTOMERS; instead their overall attitude is that of a harsh inn-keeper dealing with potential trouble-makers. The place is filled with ads that advertise what you're not allowed to do (EXACTLY as pointed out in another recent review) most ridiculous example: you are not allowed to enter the main reception hall with skis or boots, which makes 100% sense when you're coming from the slopes and/or the equipment is dirty. However, they won't even let you do that if you carry the equipment UNUSED and IN THE BAGS. And the guy at the reception is unable to articulate an explanation; instead he will become borderline-aggresive and just tell you that "it's our rule and you have to respect it" (if you're lucky to find somebody that speaks English...). they demand a 200 EUR security deposit (cash only!), but you only find out about that in the email that you get ~1 week before arrival date. they ask you to "remove all the rubbish" from the room upon checkout. For an accommodation in this price range, the staff...
Read moreWe stayed at these apartments a year ago and because we really liked it, we immediately made a reservation for the following year. Unfortunately, this year we were very disappointed. Despite booking almost a year in advance and requesting a room on an upper floor, we were given ground floor rooms with a view straight onto the parking lot, which was right next to the terrace. When a car's headlights turned on at night, it woke up everyone in the house. In the second bedroom, there wasn't such an issue because the window was about the size of one you'd find in a prison cell. But that wasn't the biggest problem; it was the service. The receptionist, who seemed perpetually disgruntled with the world, couldn't even manage a "good morning" when he saw guests. When he did speak, it was always with a problem. Forget about planning to leave Livigno early to avoid traffic; the receptionist has a problem with that too. Apparently, a cleaner needs to come in the morning before your departure to check the room and return the deposit (because the receptionist seems to think that overnight, you might break all the dishes).
In summary, the rooms were well-equipped, and a big advantage was the short distance to the slopes. However, we will return to Livigno next year, but we'll choose apartments where there's a friendlier atmosphere, where guests are treated with kindness rather than seeing them...
Read moreI was in that apartment building for 20min and I can surely say that those 20min were the worst in my life. The behavior from the owners side was unacceptable. Due to some reasons, I was traveling with my emotional support dog (hypo-allergic, trained, 3kg) and we were hoping that all together we would be able to solve this issue with the owner and staff and that that owner would understand the situation that I have a dog that is always with me. The dog is never left alone because it’s always with me. Of course, I understand that we were breaking rules but the story is not about the rule breaking. The story is about the owner and his attitude towards his guests. Unacceptable, rude, belligerent and cruel! Without any explanations he started screaming and jelling at us to get out or otherwise he would call a police. That evening was the first one in a long time when I had such big emotional stress. And all that, thanks to the owner. In a result, at 8pm, I was kicked out of the building with no jacket, no belongings, without any ability to breathe and crying. The owner didn’t care. I have never experienced a person being so rude and fierce. Thankfully, I found a place where to stay for that night, to figure out where to stay for the rest of...
