Cavarchino B&B — Hotel in Gaiole in Chianti

We stayed here for one night at the end of May 2017 as we were getting married in Castello di Meleto and wanted to stay near to the wedding venue. We stayed as a group of 10 which included couples and friends. The B&B was absolutely beautiful and had been built and decorated to a high standard. It was modern while still maintaining the traditional italian decor. There was plenty of free parking and beautiful gardens. ||We booked directly through the owners and although their English isn't the best - stick with it, it really is the most beautiful B&B! The owners advised us on local restaurants and booked a meal for us in the town which was a short 10 minute walk. The village of Gaiole is quite small with a few restaurants and shops however is a great base for exploring Tuscany. Especially as the rooms are very reasonable in comparison to the bigger cities. We loved the breakfast and the rooms were spotless.||I was however surprised that the pool wasn't open even though the weather was very hot! We didn't have time to go in anyway but it would be worth enquiring about this before booking if you are hoping to spend time in the pool. All my friends loved their stay here and can't...

Andrea & Patrizia (and their sweet dog Penny) were amazing hosts and their B&B absolutely beautiful!!!! The location is in the heart of the Chianti region and you are close to the quaint medieval town of Vertine as well as the other two Chianti regions of Castagnoli and Radda, which have beautiful villages and amazing wine tasting rooms!|Andrea & Patrizia welcome you like family and have maps and highlights of the area ready to share with you. Andrea was too sweet; he gave me a suggested day's itinerary, which I followed, and it was perfect! From suggesting castle visits to amazing restaurants and local wineries, it was all spot on and wonderful. |After a day of exploring, it was AMAZING to lay be the property's infinity pool before cleaning up & heading to dinner. The views from the property are breathtaking.|Morning breakfast was lovely. Fresh coffee made to order, croissants, cakes, and even a meat & cheese tray along with other Italian delicacies.|I cannot say enough about how amazing Cavarchino is, and I recommend it highly! Andréa et Patrizia nous ont accueillis à bras ouverts chez eux, comme si on se connaissait déjà . Leur maison en pierre est magnifique , entièrement rénovée il y a 5 ans . Il y a un grand parking privé, le jardin est immense et très bien entretenu par Andréa , et de la piscine à débordement on a une vue magnifique sur le village de Gaiole et les paysages environnants . |Des notre arrivée , Andréa a pris le temps de tout nous expliquer sur ce qu'il y a à visiter dans cette région du chianti qu'il connaît parfaitement (châteaux, randonnées, dégustations de vin) . Il a plein de documentation et de cartes et des très bonnes adresses de restaurant . Pas besoin d'aller a l'office de Tourisme ! Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir la plus belle chambre Vertine, la seule avec une terrasse privée , orientée à l'ouest avec le soleil le soir . Bonne literie et c'est très propre et calme. Le petit déjeuner est servi dans une belle salle avec une cheminée et des fenêtres donnant sur le jardin . C'est très copieux (viennoiseries, gâteaux fait maison , charcuterie, œufs à la demande...) c'est vraiment d'un très bon rapport qualité / prix , dans un cadre exceptionnel, surtout quand on aime la nature, le calme et les randonnées . |La piscine n'est pas chauffée et fin septembre il faisait déjà un peu frais (21 degrés dans l'eau) mais comme il faisait très beau et la température extérieure très agréable (25 degrés ) on s'est quand même baigné , impossible de résister à cette piscine surtout qu'on était tous seuls ! C'est très agréable après une randonnée. |On peut partir a pied de la maison pour monter au château de Vertine et ensuite faire une boucle de 10km (3h de marche) en passant par Vistarenni et S. Donato in Perano et revenir a Gaiole, c'est une belle ballade dans les vignes . Nous avons fait la dégustation de vin à Rocca di Castagnoli et dîné a l'osteria il Bandito toujours à Castagnoli (beau village avec de très belles vues, à quelques km de Gaiole, il faut prendre la voiture) sur les recommandations d'Andréa (il a appelé le resto lui même pour réserver ) Ça nous a tellement plu qu'on y est retourné le lendemain ! Petit resto qui paye pas de mine mais tout est fait maison et pas cher ! Ils ont une terrasse avec une vue magnifique sur laquelle il doit être agréable de manger le midi ou le soir en été . |3 nuits c'était trop court et on était triste de quitter Andréa et Patrizia.
