From the moment we arrived, the service was wonderfully friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home in its warm, inviting atmosphere.
But let's talk about the food – it was truly great food that showcased the best of Tuscan tradition. I indulged in the wild boar, and it was simply sublime – tender, rich, and bursting with flavor, clearly slow-cooked to perfection. My friend, on the other hand, went for the iconic Bistecca Fiorentina, and what an experience that was! It's important to remember that at Osteria Al Ponte, you get the authentic Tuscan treatment: you actually select your steak from their fresh display, and you're charged by its weight. This personal touch adds to the experience, ensuring you get exactly the cut you desire. The steak itself was cooked to perfection, a beautiful char on the outside and wonderfully rare in the middle, just as it should be. Osteria Al Ponte offers that perfect blend of traditional Tuscan charm, excellent service, and truly memorable food. If you're in the Chianti region, especially if you've just visited the nearby Castello, do yourself a favor and seek out this fantastic osteria. You won't be...
Read moreI’ve been to Osteria Al Ponte four times (so far) in three days with my family. Yes, one day we had lunch AND dinner on the same day! The reason why we’ve been back so often is because the food, the staff and the atmosphere are simply outstanding. Let me start with the food. I’ve had the beef cheeks, the tartare, the risotto, the deconstructed burger and the Florentine steak. All matched with a local Prosecco. I was in heaven, being gluten intolerant and often struggling to find any decent yet let alone delicious food. I’m so happy when I eat here and will end up trying all menu items by the end of our two week stay in Tuscany. Now to the staff. I was amazed at the expertise, attention to detail, respect and warm welcome. By our second visit we felt like family. Alma and Ado (the owners) and their staff are outstanding people. And finally the atmosphere. We’ve dined inside and outside. It’s a casual atmosphere so you don’t need to dress up, but you can. Inside feels almost like a fine dining experience. Outside is classic Italian casual; we loved having lunch outside. This is our favourite restaurant since arriving in Italy three weeks ago. From Rome to Positano to Tuscany,...
