We stayed at this jewel of a hotel for one week with our children and didn’t want to leave! Giovanni, Christina and the team at Seven Rooms Villadorata were exceptionally helpful, hospitable and professional. Giovanni was instrumental in making this a seamless and most enjoyable trip with fantastic reservations at the top restaurants (Manna, next door, was our favourite), day trips to the neighbouring towns (Ragusa, Modica & Scicli all a must) as well as the nearby beaches. He also gave us great suggestions for restaurants in Siracusa which was the second leg of our trip. Because we arrived the day of Easter, Giovanni was extraordinarily kind and bought a bag full of chocolate Easter eggs for the kids so that we could have an Easter egg hunt. As if that wasn’t enough, he informed me that it was their gift to the children! As for the hotel, Christina did a fabulous job at renovating and decorating this section of the palace with a sensitivity to it’s past whilst still modernising it in a luxurious way. We stayed in a spacious and beautiful two bedroom suite with a delightful drawing room. The location couldn’t have been better. Having stayed at many of the most beautiful and luxurious 5 star hotels around the world, we would rate Seven Rooms at the top of the list because of the exquisite attention to every detail and service. All management at the world’s top hotels should stay here and take notes! Breakfasts were delicious with every food item being specially sourced. The organic yoghurt from Modica for example, was the best yoghurt I’ve ever tasted. Wherever they could source things organically, they did. Noto is a gorgeous town, and because of the Seven Rooms was the perfect base for exploring the region. Next time we would continue on at this hotel and make a few day trips to Siracusa, as the 5 star hotels there couldn’t hold a candle to it. We highly recommend the Seven Rooms and travel to this extraordinary part of Sicily! We can’t...
Read moreHard to beat staying at royalty's former residence. Superb location, in fact the motor entrance is nearly hidden off a one-way street. But when you enter the courtyard, you get a much better idea of the size of the palace. Only one portion is now Seven Rooms (oddly, there are more than seven), spread out over three floors. The opulence is tasteful and purposeful today, and it is almost impossible to beat the views of Noto if your suite faces Corso Vittorio Emanuele, as ours did.
Top-notch service by all levels of staff. They almost scurry away to not appear to be waiting for tips, which are well-deserved.
Spacious rooms with 12 ft ceilings. Several sitting areas outside your room are shared by 2-3 suites but we never saw or heard anyone using them. Our room key was, comically, a set of keys, as management wants to preserve traditional locks where still operating but also use newer keys for improvements (after hours, two of the keys allow you access to a certain door off the street and once in the courtyard to the rooms).
As their restaurant was closed during our visit, you complete a lengthy menu the night before which is delivered to your room at the chosen time the next morning. If you have a terrace, it's wonderful to gaze over the adjacent rooftops and landmarks while you enjoy your filling breakfast.
Noto is a very compact town and we were glad we followed our advisor's suggestion to stay here instead of in Ragusa or Modica, as Noto has a few more places to eat and drink within a 5-6 block area along the Corso.
