Hotel Palazzo Papaleo — Hotel in Otranto

Perfectly located in the heart of the old town of Otranto, this 5* boutique hotel has it all. My now fiancé, said I couldn't have chosen better!||||Firstly, and always most importantly in our opinion, the staff are amazing. Always a smile on their face, whatever time of the day. All of them are true locals, which meant that every recommendation was top quality. ||||Their service was simply the best. Forgot toothpaste? No problem, full tube of Oral-B Max White Pro (no cost!). Transfer from the airport? No problem, they booked taxi and waiting at arrival for us. Transport to get to Lecce? No problem, Eleanor booked bus tickets for us so that we could pick-up our rental car and then gave us many options for parking when in Otranto. I know these are small details, however it is these details that make the difference between 4 and 5 star hotels.||||Breakfeast was great, most of the options are freshly made by their chefs and there is good variety. Sacha was lovely too, he also gave us some great recommendations, another true local always with a smile!||||Room was clean and had good operating AC, which was needed when it was very hot outside, which meant we had no unpleasant sleeps. We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Palazzo Papaleo. Before we even arrived, Valentina reached out with very clear communication on where to meet her so that she could kindly take our luggage to the hotel and recommend the best parking facilities close by. Once we had checked in, we were shown to our room by the wonderful Mateo who explained a bit about the history of the hotel and some helpful information for our stay. Our room was gorgeous, with a balcony overlooking the streets of the old town and a gorgeous a little terrace. The breakfast each day was a perfect assortment of fruit, cereals, yoghurt, eggs, breads and cakes and served on their stunning roof terrace. This hotel is really conveniently situated for the old town. You can walk to the beaches and restaurants and go back to the rain whenever you want. The layout of the room we had didn’t leave a lot of room to move around but they moved us and it was a vast improvement. I wouldn’t call it a lux hotel but it’s nice. Really good breakfast. However, the reason our stay here was fantastic was really down to the staff who are exceptional and don’t even realise.
