The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It’s about 120 m from the train station. Make sure you go upstairs when you get off the train because if you don’t you will have to walk 600 m unfortunately we didn’t know that and ended up at another hotel and I had to call a taxi at a cost me €10 to go 120 m not happy the hotel itself is about 10 minutes from the main part of the city, which is excellent everything is in walking distance. The breakfast was nice. They had a very few things for gluten-free, but everything else was basic. The room had a nice TV but again one of my pet peeves is only BBC in English, I don’t understand why we can’t get a couple stations for people that only speak English. They TV says English or i Italian and when I press English all I still got was BBC the mattress was very comfortable. The sheets are very nice. The bathroom has all the right things in it, body lotion, so forth. It I like they have wood floors so that you’re not stepping on dirty carpeting room was clean daily nicely. Everything was fresh. When I came back from my touring The staff at the front desk was very helpful !!they give you one bottle of water when you check in even when I’m staying for three days which is another pet peeve We had an executive room, which had a little couch in it, not a desk. They had a coffee maker with espresso. Bath robes and bedroom slippers are included One thing that I thought was kind of tacky as they have paper cups everywhere that’s unusual in a four-star hotel Usually you have glass glasses in your room !!!also the air condition is regulated by the front Dess. I had some issues and I went down and she pulled up the screen and told me what my temperature was in my room and I asked her to lower it. I thought that was very different. Usually, I control my own air conditioning for my own room something like we have at home called Nest where I can make it go up or down without touching the thermostat thought that was very interesting and I wasn’t as happy because I could not regulate my own thermostat They have a pool here, which is unusual in a hotel in this area very nicely designed small, but a nice grassy area where they have chairs where are you can sit sunbather go in the pool they charge two dollars for a towel which I really don’t understand what that’s about . We did not use it but it is available and a sauna and a weight room we ate all three night in the restaurant because we came to Parma when everybody that is close by restaurants were on vacation although the food was very good, I must admit , so I would recommend this location and hotel if you’re are planning to spend a few...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to stay at the Novotel Parma Centro, and overall, I was quite impressed with my experience. The hotel's location directly at the main railway station makes it incredibly convenient for travelers arriving by train, and it is also just a short walk from the city center.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly and professional staff who were more than happy to assist me with any questions or concerns I had. As an ALL Platinum status customer, I was given an upgrade to an executive room and a complimentary drink voucher, which was a nice touch. I had requested a quiet room that was not near the elevator when I made my booking and was pleased to find that this request had been honored; the staff specifically mentioned this at check-in, which I appreciated.
The room itself was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a comfortable couch, a coffee machine, and a robe for guests to use. The bathroom was particularly noteworthy, as it was large and featured a big shower with excellent water pressure. The room was also spotlessly clean.
The hotel offers a variety of amenities for guests to enjoy, including a fitness center, sauna, and pool as well as a restaurant, though I did not have the chance to use them during my stay.
One small suggestion for improvement would be to provide guests with a complimentary bottle of water in the room. Another suggestion would be to add a few more decorative elements, such as artwork or photographs, to the room walls as they are quite bare and could benefit from a little more visual interest.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at the Novotel Parma Centro and would highly recommend it to other travelers visiting Parma. The hotel's excellent location, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms make it a great choice for a...
Read moreEverything about this hotel is great - I can't say enough (and I usually prefer old style places with charm and history).
If you arrive by train, at the pretty Parma station, simply turn left at the top level of the building, and you can see the front door to the Novotel. We were a bit worried that the hotel was by the station. However, it's a nice area, and a 5 minute walk to the old town.
The welcome at reception was so friendly (and was so for the 5 days we were there, so charming).
The bar area at the front was super! Really nice, sleek, comfy modern furniture and a huge wide screen tv for sports lovers - and they were really helpful about showing our preferences.
I've already reviewed the superb restaurant separately (5*)...
All the common areas are nicely decorated and clean. We didn't have the breakfast option, so we didn't use this restaurant - but it looked very nice.
The bedrooms were a good size with a SUPER comfy, king bed. Again, the rooms decor was lovely, with another wide-screen tv and proper wood coat hangers. There's also an ice-cold fridge stocked with soft drinks from €2.5. The bathroom was gorgeous; all marble and tiles with a good-sized shower, and nice fluffy towels.
The pool and gym were a real bonus. Huge pool area with a fantastic swimming pool. There is an outdoor bar area that is seasonal - just opening on our last day.
NB I'm not going to mark this hotel down for the following, but I think I needed to mention it. The hotel couldn't turn the air-conditioning on this early in the season, as the city has a ban on this ("it is better for the environment", can't argue with that.). It wasn't a huge problem as it wasn't too hot and the window in the room opened fine. I know some people might find...
