Ristorante Al Parmigiano — Restaurant in Parma

The restaurant is located in the same building as the Novotel Parma Centro. The on-site restaurant and bar belong together, so the staff at the bar can be approached if staff aren't in the restaurant after the restaurant opens. We got a seat without a reservation. After 8pm the restaurant was full. The food was served quickly, unfortunately too quickly for us, so the bread and the first course came at the same time. All dishes were delicious and beautifully prepared. The ambiance was very nice as there was a nice colored couch in one corner, the window front in another and a transparent ham fridge in yet another. Our waitress was very friendly. We read in one review that the wine glasses had streaks from the dishwasher. We can confirm this. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they are bothered...

Di solito sono molto generoso nei giudizi. Anche in questo caso penso di essere stato buono con due stelle. Abbiamo organizzato una cena per 60 persone fissando il menù con oltre un mese di anticipo. Il ristorante ci è stato consigliato come uno tra i migliori di Parma con la disponibilità per un gruppo di tali dimensioni. Non posso dire che le aspettative fossero altissime perché comprendo la difficoltà nel gestire un numero di persone elevato, anche se quando sei sul mercato devi offrire quello che il mercato ti chiede sennò cambi mestiere. Fatta una visita preliminare il giorno precedente la cena, ci è stata presentata la sala che ci avrebbe ospitati. L’ambiente non è il massimo ma trattandosi della sala del ristorante sotto al Novotel non è stato quello il problema. La sera della cena, una volta accomodati, abbiamo avuto qualche piccolo problema con qualche cameriere giovane, ma anche questo fa parte del gioco ed è comprensibile qualche ritardo con tanta gente. Purtroppo a livello di pietanze non posso dare un giudizio positivo perché non è stato rispettato, nella qualità e nella tipologia, quanto concordato precedentemente per il menù. Passi i salumi con la focaccia, non certo il massimo, ma la delusione è stata con i tortelli alle erbette e con la tagliata. I tortelli erano palesemente di fattura industriale che non dovrebbero neanche entrare in un ristorante di livello perché mi aspetto di trovarli fatti a mano, la tagliata non era tagliata ma si trattava di una fettina di carne con sopra l’insalatina che si compra nelle buste al supermercato. Forse il parmigiano che stava sopra era l’unica cosa che rispettava le promesse. Complessivamente una delusione che ci ha fatto fare una pessima figura anche con i nostri ospiti. Il ristorante si è scusato offrendo il vino che abbiamo preso in più rispetto a quanto concordato ma la caduta di stile verso gli ospiti non me la compensa nessuno. A wonderful (yet short) stay in Parma was only made better by the Ristorante Al Parmigiano. A reccomendation from a family member was much appreciated after the brilliant service and of course the amazing food. Slightly pricey for the portion size but it tasted so good you don't really mind paying what they ask! We ordered two starter platters of speciality Parma hams and a tray of melon, and a main course of tagliatelle with a Culatello ragu.
