Pinacoteca Stuard — Attraction in Parma

The museum itself is nice (and free!) But I had the most unnerving experience of a staff member following me around silently 5 steps behind. Because of how unnatural it seemed (and believe me, I've been to a lot of museums) I could not force myself to stay and enjoy the exhibition - almost like they wanted me to leave for some reason. Named after the philanthropist and collector Giuseppe Stuard this interesting collection is housed in part of a Benedictine monastery since 2002. Varied exhibits from archeological remains, sculptures, paintings, furniture and other items linked to the artistic history of Parma and the Stuard family....

Someone else noted that the signage is in Italian, but I was given an informative English pamphlet on arrival. The only other person I saw throughout my visit was a security guard who gave me plenty of privacy. Excellent way to get a closeup view of medieval art plus the inside of the monastery....
