I had a fantastic stay at Antico Mondo and Greta and Emio were amazingly helpful and welcoming. The room itself was beautifully clean and spacious with extra space out on the terraces. Antico Mondo also has a variety of unique rooms so there is a lot of choice to be had, which can suit various budgets. I could have upgraded to a very nice looking designer suite overlooking the beach - but I chose to stay with my terraces (and within budget for this trip). The location in the old town is excellent for: exploring; the beaches and viewpoints; the restaurants, cafés and bars; and at the same time it is within walking distance of the train station at Polignano a Mare. Greta also did an incredible job of helping me to travel further afield via the trains and buses - she had great suggestions as to where to go and how to get there (including helping me with train and bus times so the fact that my mobile was not working well out there turned out not to be such a problem after all). Both Emio and Greta had great tips on where to eat as well - all over Polignano a Mare and further afield like Monopoli. Although I was a bit embarrassed at my lack of Italian, their English is great and it was really useful and enjoyable to chat with them and work with them on how to make the most of my visit. I left feeling that there was so much more I could see (and eat), comfortable with getting about on public transport (especially with Greta's help) and grateful for the time and effort that they spent with me (and for the breakfast and invigorating coffees from Emio on my departure morning). They also have the contacts to sort out everything from boat trips, restaurant bookings, parking (for those that have hired cars) and airport transfers (for those like me who hadn't). This is well worth a visit, whether relaxing in Polignano itself or using it as a central point from which to travel out to the surrounding area and explore Monopoli, Alberobello, Ostuni,....
Read moreOur stay at Antico Mondo was nothing short of exceptional. We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights here as one of many stops on our honeymoon back in July. Our room felt incredibly luxurious, with the most stunning views (that pictures do not even do justice), and quick access to the heart of Polignano a Mare. We were in absolute awe of this beautiful space, which was the definition of luxury, making for one of our favourite and most memorable stays on our honeymoon. But the true heart of this B&B is the owner, Emio. From the moment we booked this stay (many months before) he was readily available to answer any questions, help guide us with things to do in the area and prepare for our upcoming stay. Once we arrived, he was attentive, charismatic, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. We looked forward to breakfast every morning to have a quick chat with Emio and the wonderful staff who prepare the insanely delicious breakfast every morning, filled with local foods. He was always one quick Whatsapp message away if we needed him to book us a reservation at nearby restaurants, recommend places to see/eat, or even nearby beaches to visit to truly appreciate the beauty of Polignano as a local. Emio, grazie per questa incredibile esperienza....
