My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in November and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. ||||The exterior of the building is easy to miss and very inconspicuous but the reception staff were friendly and due to an early flight was checked in well before the official check in date. The room was spacious enough, the bed extremely comfy and both the room and bathroom were well equipped. I would recommend running the shower for a couple of minutes to ensure the warm water is coming through which is no hassle whatsoever. Housekeeping was offered every day of our stay, we declined all but one. Breakfast is also offered but we preferred to have a look around and have breakfast out. The mini bar was fairly priced too, with prices comparable to that of any other shop within Rome.||||The location was fantastic for our needs, we were sightseeing and found that being 10 minutes walk from Termini was extremely convenient, linking us to both metro lines and easily within a 10 minute metro journey of any of the sights we were interested in. ||Don't waste your time by taking the google route from Termini to the hotel, we found google directed us to get a train from Termini to another nearby metro station but this was completely pointless. Just exit Termini at the steakhouse end, turn right and take the first left after the Coop supermarket. From there, follow the road down until you get to a main intersection, cross directly over and the hotel will be on the left. ||||There were a couple of shops to the right of hotel, one sold very reasonably priced pastries, drinks and such. The restaurant to the right of the hotel is also extremely reasonable. Do not let this put you off, the food is amazing.||||Overall, I'd definitely recommend the hotel. The location itself made it a worthwhile and we would definitely be using this hotel again should we find ourselves in Rome...
Read moreDo NOT stay here! You might either get swarmed by mosquitos or bitten by bed bugs- according to the reception!!
We arrived at Rome Key Homes at the end of March and stayed for 4 nights. The first night of our stay we were pleased with the service and the room was clean and comfy. However, we did ask for 2 more pillows for the second night.
The morning after the 2 new pillows were given to us my partner had about 10 bug bites on his arms. We were unsure if these were mosquito bites or bed bugs but we erred on the side of hope and decided it must have been mosquitos as we had the windows open. That evening we asked the reception how to use the air conditioner and we closed the windows.
The next morning my partner woke up with about 20-30 new bites and I have at least 20 bites on mostly our arms and backs. Getting worried, as I rarely ever get bitten by mosquitos we alerted reception of bugs in our room and requested a new room. That night in the new room no new bites showed up.
At check out I asked the person at reception about a refund for 1 or 2 nights because after paying over 400 euros you would not expect to leave with about a combined 60 bug bites. He told us to call once we got back because the managers 'are abroad' and that he couldn't do anything about it. I was skeptical but agreed to try from home.
I sent several e-mails to Rome Key Homes as well as the pictures I've included and they insist that they do not have bed bugs. Therefore, be warned- you might either get swarmed by mosquitos or bitten by bed bugs.
They offered us a free stay in the future and when I complained to the booking website they told us the 'hotel' would not give us any refund and only could offer us a 30 pound 'sorry' voucher...
Read moreWe were a couple. Overall with the deal we had, we were happy. The staff were nice, the room was clean and if I complained I would say our check-in was late at night that was after a flight delay and baggage delay that added to our tiredness and stress and when we got to the address and pushed the buzzer a man answered and we could not understand what he was saying, he was so sleepy and was answering with delays. I think the management should make sure of sending instructions for such cases. We were supposed to get there by 10 pm, but we got there around midnight. The room was small like other European hotel rooms so coming from North America it was something we don't like, but we managed. ||||The breakfast coffee should be served hot with heated milk since the milk is not warm it kills the coffee's temperature. It is the same thing every day that gets really boring soon. ||||The bed was ok, but the mattress was a bit of low quality and we could feel the springs. You can definitely hear the next room. The location is close to Termini where you can find bus or metro to any part of the city. At night the ambient is not the best so if you are not accompanied with men, you may feel a bit insecure. ||||Again, if you get a good deal, it is a reasonable...
