This whole review section is baffling and hilarious in equal measure. I almost don't want to write this review for fear of the inevitable combative response from the owner which i've seen on countless other negative reviews. However, I feel compelled to share my experience as I am astounded by the 5 star reviews this place has received.

Firstly, the "house bruschette" is a piece of somewhat stale toast with a slice of tasteless tomato. It was free so I can't complain too much. However, other people have described this as some of the best bruschette they have ever eaten. I'm telling you it's not even good.

We had a penne arribiata. Despite the menu describing this as being cooked with "strong chilli" the sauce tasted of nothing but bland tomato. The penne itself was nothing special.

We had a pork escalope in a lemon sauce which was tough and bland.

Both of these dishes were luke warm.

We also ordered a tomato salad. It was November so maybe not tomato season but they were bland. Once we seasoned with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar from the table, they were fine.

At the end of the meal we were given free chilled Limencello which was delicious. The highlight of the whole thing.

I feel I can't rate it a 1 star since the service was fine, the food all edible and well priced, and Limencello delicious. We cleaned our plates, but we were very hungry from walking around Rome that day (we quickly left after our mains to get more food elsewhere). Overall, coming in expecting the best food I've ever eaten and being served this, I was very disappointed. If you are after some delicious pasta or pizza, this area around the Termini station seems to be full of traps like this so please...

Just ACE, fantastic..!

where to start...?

We were staying in the hotel Assisi next door. I'm really fussy, vegetarian and gluten intolerant, my mum can't eat onions or tomatoes, and one of my daughters has also just become vegetarian...

We popped in after an awful day, being robbed on the metro, being robbed by cafes near the vatican and being robbed by tourist agencies...

We sat down and just wanted sustenance...

We didn't expect some of the best cooked vegetables ever, we didn't expect to meet the cheekiest, funniest, stroppiest yet most charming waitress with a passion for photography... to be given free bruschetta, gluten free too, to have gluten free pasta, or, as my daughters said, the best pizza in Italy ..and then to be given free alcohol after the meal!

We visted on two consecutive nights, and each night stayed until very late, we also met a Danish family who had eaten there every day of their stay and for breakfast too...

If you visit, you must try as many vegetable side dishes as you can, as they are phenomenal, they really are, as is the caprese salad. I aked for a big green salad on my first night as I just needed something green and got the biggest most tastiest slad I have ever had, The next night I had veggie gluten free Penne al arrabiatta, with salad, and fried beans, and fried broccoli, the veg is sublime

To be honest, I was too langered to remember the deserts the wee lass gave me too much free grappa

Great family restaurant, great choice , fantastic quality and no stupid service charges.

Really enjoyed eating here, one of the most joyful memories of Rome.

(Ps: they also do a pizza with sausage and chips on it ...Wurstel e...

Ok… I’ll be honest and I’m not the kind of person who leaves negative reviews… the service was very good. The servers were smiley and helpful. BUT that’s about it… I’m very surprised with all the reviews here raving about the food. The tomato sauce that came with the ravioli was subpar at best and I’ve had better sauce that came from a glass bottle I bought in a supermarket. The ravioli itself was definitely not homemade. The cotollete looked like it came from a frozen box. The portions were small as well. Yes they do offer complimentary bread and limoncello but who cares that much?? On the upside the aperol spritz and the house wine tasted good! Anyways, I guess I should not be that surprised given that the restaurant is in a tourist area…maybe all the restaurants around the area serve the same quality of food and that’s why they don’t care that much??

UPDATE: your response to my review only shows that you don’t care about your guests’ experience because if you did so you’d try to find out what you did wrong and this review was written. For other peoples references I have lived in Verona and visited Italy many many times so I do know what original Italian food tastes like (maybe that’s how I knew that cotollete SHOULD be white meat and not grey!). I recommend you keep serving free bread and limoncello and buying reviews because that’s the only way your business will survive. So sad to see restaurants in Rome like this one to not really care about offering a real Italian experience to their guests. Too bad I didn’t take any pics of the worst food I have...

The staff were friendly. This restaurant is near the train station. The restaurant did mot have a working hand wash sink outside the bathroom. The food is just so-so. We tried to order the Roman style artichokes but they were out if season. We ordered two fried zucchini flowers, tuna steak, and salimbocca a romana. The zucchini flowers at 2 euro per flower were filled with cheese and overly breaded do we didn’t really tasted anything. The tuna steak was over cooked. The sage on the chicken was bitter. This restaurant is open late. Edit (to respond to the restaurant): the staff were actually kindly told us in advance that the sink did not work. It was not a matter of us not knowing how to use the sink. After they explained I decided to use hand sanitizer and didn’t try to wash my hands. We read the zucchini flower description and you can see in my photos that the fiori di zucca did not list “formaggio” which is cheese in Italian. Our dissatisfaction did not have to do with the menu description, but with the flavor and quality of the time. The restaurant commented that the meat was pork so I want to highlight the restaurant’s comment that I suppose they used pork cutlets instead. We were under the impression that traditional Saltimbocca alla romana was traditionally made with veal cutlets and ham.

When we first sat down and ordered drinks one of the male waiters came up and poured the water we ordered and was looking down my top. He later returned and stood slightly behind me to pour the wine for the table. One of the other waiters came up to me and he asked if I had any tattoos (which i found very inappropriate) but i said no. He then placed his hand on my back and started rubbing my back and arms and said “oh good good”. He then later tried to put his arm around my back again as i was leaving. Due to this i would not come back here. It is really a shame because we really did enjoy the food and service here but I do not feel safe to be around some of the male waiters at this restaurant. It was only two waiters in particular so hopefully this will not happen to any other females but this was not ok. The food was great otherwise. Our waiter at the start was very friendly and she made jokes. Free bread and limoncello with the service. We stayed until close and we tipped our waiter.
