My first meal in Rome after visiting Venice and Florence. Matteo service was ok. Can speak good English but not very attentive.
We ordered Rissoto but were not given a spoon. We have to request for it 3x. Pizza came without giving us parmesan cheese. In Venice and Florence, they will make sure to give us the right cutlery and give us Parmesan cheese before the food is even served.
A homeless guy went to every table in the outdoor seating asking for food. The boss/ manager (who was sitting at 1 of the outdoor table doing his work and giving instructions) and there were 2 servers outside did not bother, or asked the homeless to leave. Usually in other restaurants, the guests will not be disturbed.
Food was served and I have finished my beer, the bottle was not cleared. The claws of the scampi of my risotto was not cracked. Both small issues, but showed a lack of consideration.
Food was nice but the service is not thoughtful. In my opinion I wouldn't rate them anything more than 4 stars. They will requested for google review when you asked for bill, probably that's why the review...
Read moreUnfortunately this place did not live up to its reviews. The food was bland, slightly undercooked and lacked the flavours that proper Italian food should have. The carbonara was heavy, didn't taste of eggs even though it was a surprising dark yellow and the pancetta was half too crispy and half just uncooked fat. I looked forward to try saltimbocca, being my first time in Rome but I was very disappointed. There was no flavor at all, both the meat and the ham were bland and tasteless, there were three tiny pieces of sage and the cream was kinda lemony but you couldn't really tell. I shared the food with my sister, we split both dishes and she was of the same opinion. Really sad with this, as so far I've had such delicious food in Rome and I was really looking forward to some more traditional dishes. As for the staff, they were friendly but distracted, the atmosphere was ruined by the music that was fairly loud and did not allow much conversation and the fact that they squeezed as many tables as they could in all the rooms, not really leaving much space for movement or...
Read moreWe originally had planned to go to Ristorante Luigi, which was across the street. One of the deciding factors were the pinze (my child loves them) that we had seen photos of online. When we arrived there was a worker outside who explained that it was closed for renovations but we could eat at the restaurant across the street, Mino, as they are under the same management. We agreed and were promptly seated. At first, service was prompt. We ordered a pizza and ravioli with some beverages. Everything came out promptly, but that’s where the good ends. The pizza was drowning in seemingly processed mozzarella and terrible, it seemed as though it might have previously been frozen, or at the very least, refrigerated for some time. The ragù for the ravioli was greasy. After bringing our food, no one came back to the table. Finally, after we had no longer been eating for more than 20 minutes and trying to make eye contact with workers all around us, paying no attention, I got up and asked to pay. I cannot recommend this restaurant for a...
