Hotel Madonna — Hotel in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

Everything about Hotel Madonna was top notch! The welcome was the warmest we've ever had. Upon arriving, Marcus led us to the garden and brought us juice where we completed the check-in followed by a personal tour of the hotel and the amenities in our room. We stayed on the top floor and the room was impeccable, spacious and comfortable. The room and entire hotel was so clean and bright. Our balcony was comfortable with a beautiful view of the nearby Mountain (we spent a lot of time just looking out over the garden and watching the mountains change with the light of the day & changing sun. Even when it rained one day it was beautiful. The cleaning staff left us a different pillow sculpture every time we returned. The beds and pillows were all extremely luxurious. The soaking tub, looking up through the skylight was so relaxing. We discovered the wellness area too late (a day before we left) and in hindsight I wish we had used it daily; so many options that felt good for our soul! ||Most notable was the impeccable service by the waitstaff, the friendliness of the owner (Daniel) and the incredible gourmet food each night. We did not expect the quality and high end dining (but warm & comfortable without a pretentious feel)! One night was a struedel bar (baked by Daniel). Another night included a cheese buffet (more cheese than I've ever seen at one time) beautifully displayed & sourced & served by Daniel! We selected our own courses each morning from a menu of options and each night was a presentation of art on our plates, that satisfied all the senses! The mostly self-serve breakfast included a juicer and a range of coffee options and so many choices of local foods. Suggested daily activities/hiking routes & local information was also shared each morning, as we were greeted by the friendly staff! The location was on a quiet street about a 6 min walk from the center of town (and one of the local gondola's). The experience was as close to an all inclusive resort as one can get without it being one, and what we paid was still less per night than we would pay here in the US in many hotels for only a room. ||Well done to Daniel and his wife (who live on the premises beside the hotel)! Liebe Familie Burgauner, vielen Dank für diese tolle Zeit bei Ihnen, ebenso gilt unser Dank auch Ihrem ganzen Team ob vor oder hinter den Kulissen. Die Lage ist sowohl im Sommer als auch im Winter perfekt. Im Winter verkehrt der hoteleigene Shuttlebus 4x am Vormittag vom Hotel direkt zur Seiser Alm Bahn und am Nachmittag 4x retour. Nach nur wenigen Gehminuten erreicht man das Orstzentrum, sowie die nächste Bushaltestelle. In nächster Näher zum Hotel befindet sich der Marinzenlift, welcher im Sommerbetrieb läuft, sowie der Einstieg in diverse Wanderwege. Im Winter befindet sich weniger Meter hinter dem Hotel ein kleiner Teller-Übungslift welcher fußläufig erreichbar ist.

Trotz der zentralen Lage war es um das Hotel herum schön ruhig und wir konnten auch Nachts mit offenem Fenster sehr gut schlafen. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern und mit viel Holz ausgestattet, sodass man sich direkt sehr wohl fühlt. Die Bilder auf der homepage stimmen nach unserer Erfahrung mit der wirklichen Gegebenheiten überein, hier wird nichts geschönt dargestellt. Unser Zimmer war neben einem Sofa und Couchtisch auch noch mit einem "Esstisch" samt Stühlen und Eckbank sowie einer Minibar und TV ausgestattet.

Sehr angenehm fanden wir das sehr große Badezimmer mit offener Dusche, Badewanne und vor allem zwei Waschbecken, was man nur selten vorfindet. Im vorhandenen Boxspringbett kann man die Nacht in vollen Zügen genießen.

Besonders erstaunt waren wir darüber, dass die in südlicher Richtung vorhandenen Zimmer durch die Sonneneinstrahlung erwärmt und mit dieser Wärme auch die nördlichen Zimmer mit geheizt werden, somit war im Zimmer selbst keine zusätzliche Heizung nötig, was wir als sehr Nachhaltig empfinden.

In unserem geräumigen Zimmer, in dem es uns an nichts gefehlt hat, war es zu jeder Zeit sehr ruhig, man hat vom normalen Hotelbetrieb nichts gehört, was wir sehr angenehm empfunden haben und man nicht von allen Hotels gewöhnt ist. Vom ersten Moment als wir angekommen sind, haben wir uns herzlich Willkommen gefühlt. Man hat direkt gespürt, dass man sich über die Gäste gefreut hat. So wurde uns direkt bei unserer Ankunft ein Glas Sekt oder hauseigener Apfelsaft angeboten.

Nach der Hotelführung durch Herrn Burgauner persönlich konnten wir unser Zimmer beziehen, beim Ausladen des Gepäcks hat uns der freundliche Hausmeister geholfen. Das gesamte Personal, beginnend bei den Zimmermädchen über Rezeption, Service, Hausmeister bis hin zur Gastgeberfamilie Burgauner war sehr zuvorkommend aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Hier ist man gerne Gast und man hatte das Gefühl dass man bei Freunden angekommen ist. Der moderne Speisesaal hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Speisenangebot war hervorragend, beginnend bei einem sehr großen Frühstücksbuffet was keine Wünsche offen lässt (frisch zubereitete Eierspeisen können direkt geordert werden), über das große Kuchenbuffet am Nachmittag bis hin zum allabendlichen 5 Gänge-Menü bei dem das Küchenteam wirkliche Highlights zaubert hat es uns an nichts gefehlt.

Jeden Morgen beim Frühstück kann man das Abendessen wählen, hier stehen jeweils 3 kalte und 3 warme Vorspeisen, 3 Hauptgerichte (jeweils Fleisch, Fisch und vegetarisch), sowie 2 Desserts zur Auswahl, täglich gab es zusätzlich noch ein Salat- und Antipastibuffet. Besondere Highlights waren das 6 gängige Galadinner am Sonntag, das Strudelbuffet und das Käsebuffet. Das vorhandene Schwimmbad lädt zum Baden und insbesondere zum schwimmen ein. Der Wellnessbereich mit Sauna und Dampfbad ist nach einem Skitag eine wohltat und hat uns den einen oder anderen Muskelkater erspart. Liegen gab es sowohl im Schwimmbad- als auch Saunabereich genügend. Wir hatten hier nie Probleme einen freien Platz zu finden und das obwohl das Hotel ausgebucht war, ebenso war der Wellnessbereich nicht überlaufen, was uns sehr gut gefallen hat. Of all the hotels I stayed all over the world, hotel Madonna has to be placed in the top three of my list of excellent hotels(the list is very long as you can see from the number of my reviews).|The junior suite Harmony was great, with a very nice view, walk-in closet, spacious shower, small sitting area and a lovely balcony. Every morning, while we were having breakfast, the room was cleaned to a high standard by a very efficient young lady. |Breakfast buffet was more that excellent, I will not list here all the choices as a long review is boring to the readers. Afternoon tea, with a choice of about 10 different cakes, was sampled only once, as the temptation would have been too great, which would then have spoiled my appetite at dinner. |Dinner choices were very good with four courses and a salad buffet that was, in my opinion one of the best and should be considered as another dinner’s course. In fact all the food was very good and of high quality.|All staff, without any exception, was very professional, polite, smiling and ready, at all time, to meet all ones needs.|I can safely say, by experience, that many of the so called five stars “boutique” hotels in Caribbean have difficulty to rate as good as the Madonna, even if they have a...
