Le Grand Bleu B&B — Hotel in Syracuse

When we went to Siracusa I booked only one night at this place. I knew i won’t have time to walk across the city to see the historic downtown so this was a price/value decision. I think this place worth the price. It is located at the bridge of the downtown. The place itself clean and nice. The owner is easy to communicate with and told everything about the city for 1 night stay. It is more like a student hostel but if you want to spend a night or two you won’t recognise that there other people around in the property. It has 2 bathrooms with small cabins, but if you leave early and return late it will never be busy. |Car park right front of the hotel is free. But be careful. For you who travelling by car and you don’t want to risk, just use the automatic parking at the end of the street of the property. Don’t leave the car at the street... as far as you know Sicilian people (and even tourists) just simply can’t drive. I left the car for one night at the street, in the morning the by parkers broke my front numberplate and they scratched the rear corner. I’m telling you, if you don’t have a good insurance just don’t drive in...

We stayed there just for one night as we have a very busy schedule but it was a nice stay. Salvo is a nice owner he adviced us what to visit and where, he ave us a map and highlight places worth to visit (you can sense he has a great knowledge of this town plus he is proud of living there) The room was ok and there were two bathrooms outside which was clean and equiped with everything you might need during your trip. In the morning Salvo made us a breakfast which was very good there were some variety of sweet things and some ham and cheese plus coffee, tea and juices. This hotel is a minutes walk from the bridge that connects you to ortigia Island the historical part of Siracusa so we found it great.|It's in an apartment block.|Owner and staff Peppe were very efficient and helpful.|Room was large very basic but extremely clean and organised.|Breakfast was good.|Bathrooms are two shared between the four rooms in the b&b|I found this place very good value for money we had a small balcony looking on the small port.|We were given lots of maps information advice on arrival.|Ortigia is beautiful so we found this hotel great for walking across the bridge.|There is a lift as rooms are in the 5 th floor.|Would recommend and would definitely return if I returned...
