In 10 days spent in Sicily, this was by far the most unpleasant experience we had. I ordered a glass of white wine and my girlfriend ordered a vanilla-flavored coffee. Everything was fine until the order arrived â part of it was wrong. My girlfriend received a cherry-flavored coffee instead. After realizing the mistake, she went to let them know, and the waitress who took our order and served us had a very rude attitude. She rolled her eyes at us as if we had messed up the order.
We went to the bar to speak with the rest of the staff. We didnât pay for the coffee, but they still charged us a service fee for two people. I donât think itâs fair to charge a service fee for two people, especially when the order was wrong and we were treated the way we were. Even more absurd is that there was a previous negative review where one of the associates claimed they donât charge a service fee like other places do.
I find it outrageous to be charged such a fee and be treated with arrogance. They couldâve just said from the beginning that they didnât have vanilla, especially since they specifically asked what flavor she wanted.
To the associate who responded to the man with the pregnant wife regarding the service charge: if you said you donât apply a service fee like other places, then why do you still do it? Considering that youâre one of the associates and you made that statement yourself â why do your waiters still apply the charge, and more importantly, why do they...
Read moreThe coffee is so weak in flavour. The pistachio brioche wasnât fresh and the cream was runny and artificial tasting. The gelato I must admit was good.
Here you will find high prices, small portions, and disappointing service.
The payment system is unnecessarily confusing. Customers stand at the display counter trying to decide, often ignored by the staff who are busy chatting. Once you finally order, if you want takeaway, youâre sent to a separate payment counter. There, you pay and receive a receipt and the finally collect your food at the main counter again. The whole process feels inefficient.
The staff members seem uninterested, especially if you donât speak Italian. If youâre unsure about how to order, it often feels like an inconvenience to them. Each visit has left me uncomfortable when ordering.
The pricing is simply unreasonable. Paying âŹ3.50 for a single, tiny scoop of gelato is excessive particularly when the small cups arenât even filled to the brim. For the portion size, itâs just not worth it.
Overall, the quality of the gelato is the only redeeming factor.
As it stands, I...
Read moreThey have the worst attitude toward customers - they are rude, they donât communicate how to order or where you can/canât sit, they ignore you when standing right in front of them at the counter as if you might just disappear if they donât look!!! I asked the pay counter how to order, she said âgo to the barâ when I went to the bar the rudest person Iâve encountered in a long time said âgo to the pay counterâ. All of these encounters were done very rudely and VERY RELUCTANTLY. I finally figured out how I actually get food⊠but when I asked for milk for my tea the server rolled his eyes like I was asking for the world and actually wouldnât listen to me as he banged the milk down. It actually ruined the start to my day. Iâm always polite and positive and certainly understand a busy restaurant but this is unacceptable. You say youâve been serving people for 30 years⊠but you need to seriously consider your staff hiring and training. In my opinion, itâs not worth ruining the start to my day since there are so many places to eat where the people are actually happy and...
