In 10 days spent in Sicily, this was by far the most unpleasant experience we had. I ordered a glass of white wine and my girlfriend ordered a vanilla-flavored coffee. Everything was fine until the order arrived — part of it was wrong. My girlfriend received a cherry-flavored coffee instead. After realizing the mistake, she went to let them know, and the waitress who took our order and served us had a very rude attitude. She rolled her eyes at us as if we had messed up the order.
We went to the bar to speak with the rest of the staff. We didn’t pay for the coffee, but they still charged us a service fee for two people. I don’t think it’s fair to charge a service fee for two people, especially when the order was wrong and we were treated the way we were. Even more absurd is that there was a previous negative review where one of the associates claimed they don’t charge a service fee like other places do.
I find it outrageous to be charged such a fee and be treated with arrogance. They could’ve just said from the beginning that they didn’t have vanilla, especially since they specifically asked what flavor she wanted.
To the associate who responded to the man with the pregnant wife regarding the service charge: if you said you don’t apply a service fee like other places, then why do you still do it? Considering that you’re one of the associates and you made that statement yourself — why do your waiters still apply the charge, and more importantly, why do they...
Read moreThe coffee is so weak in flavour. The pistachio brioche wasn’t fresh and the cream was runny and artificial tasting. The gelato I must admit was good.
Here you will find high prices, small portions, and disappointing service.
The payment system is unnecessarily confusing. Customers stand at the display counter trying to decide, often ignored by the staff who are busy chatting. Once you finally order, if you want takeaway, you’re sent to a separate payment counter. There, you pay and receive a receipt and the finally collect your food at the main counter again. The whole process feels inefficient.
The staff members seem uninterested, especially if you don’t speak Italian. If you’re unsure about how to order, it often feels like an inconvenience to them. Each visit has left me uncomfortable when ordering.
The pricing is simply unreasonable. Paying €3.50 for a single, tiny scoop of gelato is excessive particularly when the small cups aren’t even filled to the brim. For the portion size, it’s just not worth it.
Overall, the quality of the gelato is the only redeeming factor.
As it stands, I...
Read moreThey have the worst attitude toward customers - they are rude, they don’t communicate how to order or where you can/can’t sit, they ignore you when standing right in front of them at the counter as if you might just disappear if they don’t look!!! I asked the pay counter how to order, she said “go to the bar” when I went to the bar the rudest person I’ve encountered in a long time said “go to the pay counter”. All of these encounters were done very rudely and VERY RELUCTANTLY. I finally figured out how I actually get food… but when I asked for milk for my tea the server rolled his eyes like I was asking for the world and actually wouldn’t listen to me as he banged the milk down. It actually ruined the start to my day. I’m always polite and positive and certainly understand a busy restaurant but this is unacceptable. You say you’ve been serving people for 30 years… but you need to seriously consider your staff hiring and training. In my opinion, it’s not worth ruining the start to my day since there are so many places to eat where the people are actually happy and...
