Good food, poor service. While I appreciate the quality of the food the overall experience was mostly disappointing. It was good of them to accommodate us without a reservation, we were greeted by our server and our drinks served promptly. This is when the first issue arose, the wine wasn’t cold and when we mentioned this we were told it was at the correct temperature. The 2nd issue was the “French fries” when the customers are obviously not Italian they should explain that their version of French fries are actually potato chips. While they were good the topping of Cacio e peppe was lacking both elements. The third issue arose when the pizza arrived. My partner was served the wrong pizza, this in itself isn’t that much of an issue but after my partner had already started eating they came with the correct pizza and insisted on changing it, even though they were Both Margherita's, abet one cost €1 more. Any respectable restaurant would have informed us of the mistake but left the pizza as we had stared eating. The fourth issue was that we asked for more drinks that were never served and the final issue was that the final bill was in fact incorrect and we were overcharged for our wine. Although I understand that every restaurant has an off night and mistakes do happen, It is unforgivable for the host not to apologise for the issue. No, apology for the overcharge or the fact that we never received our drink order. Overall a negative experience and as the restaurant is well reviewed I my experience won’t make any difference, but they need to train their staff a...
Read moreI discovered Piano B through a recommendation from 50 Top Pizza. Securing a reservation proved a bit challenging as the process was conducted solely in Italian. Nevertheless, once we were settled in, it was an impeccable experience and, I must assert, the best pizza any of us had ever tasted.
It wasn't just about the toppings, though they were undeniably superb and of the highest quality. What truly elevated our experience was the dough. They offered at least three varieties: Neapolitan, Sicilian, and flatbread style. We opted for the Neapolitan and Sicilian. The Neapolitan had a substantial crust with a thin middle, but what set it apart was its incredible softness, almost like a pillow. It had a velvety smooth texture that, when pressed, bounced back, creating a unique sensation. Paired with the delightful fillings, it made for a gourmand's dream.
The Sicilian, as our waiter described it, boasted a crispy texture. Unlike other doughs that can be overly tough, this one was pleasantly light with a perfect crunch and flavor. It offered a delightful surprise with its three filling options, allowing us to sample a total of five varieties. Choosing the best among them was a challenge, but perhaps the prosciutto stood out the most, owing to the magic of its few but high-quality ingredients.
I highly recommend a visit to experience this for yourself. They also offer a commendable selection of tap beers to complement your meal. Thank you for the wonderful experience; we'll definitely be...
Read moreMy husband and I went there and we ordered one pizza each plus a salad. I ordered a wholemeal pan pizza after inquiring what it was and the waiter explained it to me. Then he forgot about my order. Only my husband’s pizza and salad came, we started eating whatever is served. Husband gave 1/3 of his pizza to me. Both dishes were finished, my pizza still didn’t come. I went to ask where is it, the staff went to check, IT WAS’NT EVEN MADE! I followed and said if it’s not made I don’t want it, just bring the bill please. The bill came. My husband was not pleased with this and went to reason with them because they didn’t seem bothered or apologetic. The staff made it as if it’s my mistake because he could have made me the pizza within a few minutes but instead, I decided to ask for the bill. I refused to pay the service fee €5.6. They refused because apparently the fee is for napkin, cutlery etc (according to them). But it’s service fee - what would I pay for it when the service is not there?! In the end, they round down the bill from €32 to €30. We left really unsatisfied. They did not have a lot of...
