Ca' del Cinema — Hotel in Venice

What a find! This lovely B&B is ran by such friendly, kind and courteous hosts. We stayed here for 3 nights in August. The air conditioning was much needed and it worked fantastically. Complimentary safe in the room too. ||||Very easy to find from the Vaparetto stop - just a 5 min walk away. Thank you to Nicole for such fantastic communication to help us – via email for the confirmation and via Whats App during our stay for directions/Vaparetto information and questions about the area – very personal and helpful. Nicole had also very kindly arranged for a bottle of prosecco to be in the fridge for my partners birthday - thank you. ||||We had the pleasure of staying in the “blue room”. Spotlessy clean and very tastefuly decorated room and bathroom – very modern too with a lovely rainforest shower. The room was cleaned daily and a new bottle of water placed in the fridge, Murano glasses and fresh biscuits were left for us – a lovely touch. The bed was the comfiest bed we have ever slept in - amazing!||||Leanna (I think that is her name, I’m very sorry if that is wrong) did us such lovely breakfasts each morning. Fresh croissants, boiled eggs, tea, coffee, fruit juices, bread and jams, meats, cheeses, cake, cereals. A lovely continental breakfast that was set up for us on the outdoor terrace – beautiful start to the day. ||||The B&B is situated about a 10 minute walk from San Marco square. It was the perfect place to stay as it was close to everything but far enough out to be able to return to a lovely peaceful retreat. There are lots of restaurants nearby too. The walk is lovely too – nice and quiet and peaceful before you reach the craziness of San Marco Square/Rialto Bridge etc. Those areas are very busy from mid-morning when the day visitors arrive and the cruise ships disembark. We much preferred getting 'lost' in the streets and walking alongside the canals. ||||Fantastic value for money. We will be recommending Ca' Del Cinema to all our family and friends. Me and my fiancé have just returned from a 3 day stay from Friday to the Monday. I have to say the ca del cinema is a lovely bed and breakfast, location is ok and the breakfast is good. I was really looking forward to staying at this bed and breakfast, but alarm bells started ringing when the host Nicole gave us ear plugs for the Friday night, she said there was a party on and it wouldn’t be on too late, we were in a superior room at the front of the hotel, and their is a night club right next door tht is open every Friday, basically the club is open till 2 am and all the people stand out on the street screaming smashing glasses, and their is a live band in the back ground. I WhatsApp Nicole at 11.30pm and asked her what time it was on until, she said it should finish at 11 and she was calling the police, well basically 2.45 am it finished, we had no sleep at all on the Friday night. Next again morning we were ready to leave and Nicole said that it wasn’t on a sat or Sunday and we would be fine, but it would be back on again next Friday. so basically if you don’t mind not having a good sleep on the Friday and don’t mind screaming and live music blaring right outside your window then you should definitely visit here. Despite the nice lady who is preparing the breakfast I had a very bad experience with this hotel. I tried to cancel my reservation because I had an accident and was enable to walk. I presented all the documents (doctor and hospital) to the owner of the hotel 6 days pior to my arrival and instead of discussing the problem with me and find a solution I was immediately charged 1 night cost on my credit card. The hotel is always fully booked and finding another date was not easy especially without knowing when I would be able to walk. I booked for a month later but the superior room I had received an offer for was not available. At the end I paid the same rate but for a cheaper category. I was also told that upon arrival I have to pay the full amount in cash and will be then given a discount, which I did .. but did not receive any discount and of course...
