We dreamed of an authentic Iitalian restaurant but it turned out to be a tourist trap with ridiculous portions as main courses the size of tapas. Each menu on the card had a caption that was longer than its "poetic" description. The plates were the size of XXL saucepans - impressive!. The prices would have been normal if the promises of the menu card had been kept. Instead every fish had been cut in so many tiny pieces that you could hardly tell from taste and shape where it came from. As an example: for a sea bass I got two triangular tail ends each 4 cm long. If other unlucky customers were served the same way they could have made for more portions of sea bass adding to a 100 euros! What a bargain! The so called fresh and cripsy vegetables were hidden with a teaspoon under the tiny slices of fish. Looking closer at the carrot cubes they revealed a shape a bit too perfect and homogenous to be handcut. Their taste didn't leave the dark and cool hollows of the kitchen. I would never recommend this trattoria. This was neither Italian cuisine, nor nouvelle cuisine nor micro cuisine - just the same old story: big plates, small portions, big bill but a cosy place in a beautiful...
Read moreIf you enjoy watching grass grow while waiting for the cows to come home, this is the place for you. Average unremarkable but expensive food in small portions coupled with unimaginably slow and horrible service. The main course arrived mostly cold, lukewarm at best. Never once did our waiter come to check in on us or to refill our drinks, and they blatantly ignored us when we tried to get their attention to pay. The ambience outside was awful with next to no lighting after dark, not to mention awkward with people waiting for a table standing way too close, staring at you and listening in to your conversation. Worst experience by far at any restaurant, compelling us to leave a review for the first time. In hindsight, we should have read the reviews more thoroughly instead of just looking at the overinflated star rating; there was even a case of food poisoning four months ago. AVOID or dine at...
Read moreThis place was recomend by us by a local, I mean the place was okay and the Staff was super nice, however the food was really not that special. The presentation was really beautiful, but the taste was missing… maybe we choose the wrong dishes, but I mean, I order for a seafood pasta and this had any “sea flavour” it was very salty and plane… the Canenolis where pretty decent, but again nothing special. It was sad, because I had really I high expectations about this one. Also, the prices were very high for traditional Italian food, alongside the portions which were very very small. Despite all of this, the staff was really sweet with us, but the food was not that fresh and tasty. (the pasta didn’t seemed fresh, alongside the vegetable) If you want something more traditional you should go far away from the center, otherwise you will find yourself in a similar situation like I did… Not the...
