Edit in response to the managers response (see full review below)
I’d love to clarify a few points for you and anyone else thinking of staying here:
a) it’s not against the law to confirm a hotel reservation on the phone in Italy or elsewhere really. If this is hotel policy you should have immediately clarified with us that an email would be necessary. Instead, you directed us to book again “immediately” through your website because it was a busy week. Leaving us with no other option really as we were leaving in a few days for a trip abroad.
b) we have NEVER received a confirmation email for our original reservation. On top of that, we were never given one at the hotel. Wouldn’t even show us the reservation or confirmation on the computer. Couldn’t even tell us where the reservation came from. First it was “tablet” hotels… then the day before we left it was a “direct reservation”
c) you made yourself available the last day of our trip. We asked to speak to you over the phone. We were traveling, as a couple for the first time in years since having kids… were not going to wait around at the hotel to talk to a manager on vacation. The front desk was condescending and refusing to work with us on solving the issue (direct orders from above). “It’s your fault” was one nice thing said directly to us.
d) regardless of any of the above or below, it’s a bad way to treat people who choose to stay at your hotel. I hope you realize we will never stay there again, never recommend you to friends traveling in Italy and hopefully one person reads this and decides to stay elsewhere. Might not be worth the amount you made over charging us for a service that was never rendered and something that could have been solved before we got there seeing as we tried to amend the situation. We were too trusting and that’s a shame on us. Hope it was worth it.
— We had a disappointing experience with Ca’ Pisani that unfortunately marred an otherwise wonderful trip to Venice. We initially booked a stay through a third-party app but never received a confirmation—no email, no booking code, nothing. Concerned, we called the hotel directly to confirm, and were told they had no record of our reservation under our name or dates. Since it’s a small hotel and should be easy to verify, we booked again—this time directly through their website.
The day we arrived, we were told we somehow had two reservations. The staff assured us not to worry—they’d “take care of it.” But the next day, they reversed course, refused to help, and ultimately charged us for both reservations. They couldn’t provide a confirmation code, a booking source, or any clear explanation—just a bill. We tried to resolve it through the hotel and later through our credit card company, but the hotel refused to cooperate.
This kind of experience shouldn’t happen—especially when we acted in good faith, asked for help multiple times, and were given false reassurance. Sadly, what could have been a lovely boutique stay turned into a stressful and...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of February. First impressions were of a pretty looking hotel in a quiet area next to Accademia bridge, check in was super easy and the gentleman on reception was very friendly. Our room was on the second floor, just a view of an alleyway but that's absolutely fine. The room was super clean and we loved the decor, bathroom was lovely with separate spa bath and shower. The room had a well stocked mini bar and I thought the prices were very reasonable actually! Beds are more on the firm side, a little bit firm for our liking, but that's just personal preference! Rooms are made up every day, sometimes twice a day! The hotel itself was so quiet at all times, so peaceful! You pay a city tax so bear this in mind, we knew before we arrived so we expected this. There is something for everyone at breakfast, we both ate well! A great selection of hot and cold, and fresh fruit, lovely coffee and fruit juice. What we loved about staying here was that you are in such a quiet area, but yet you are so close to everything! Literally next door to the Accademia art gallery, Accademia bridge, then no more than a 20 min walk to all the other main attractions, rialto bridge, St marks square, doges Palace, perfect! If we ever visit venice again we would 100% stay here! Thank you so much, your hotel...
Read moreLovely Hotel. Lovely Staff. Good Breakfast. Great location. Quite nice view from room (no canals). Comfortable bed and the most comfortable pillows of any, in any hotel room I have ever stayed in.
However, my stay (less so my wife) was ruined by a combination of the room being too warm, the air con not working, and the bug screen in the window not fitting.
On arrival we left the window open to cool the room down. On returning after going out to eat we discovered the bug screen crawling with mosquitos on the inside. Despite keeping the window shut from then on there were loads left in the room and I got eaten alive. They seem to like feeding on my wife not quite so much, so she was much less bitten.
Because the aircon was bust the room was stiflingly warm and we couldn't open the window to cool down; and because the room was full of mosquitos I got bitten badly enough to make me quite miserable. On our third night i got virtually no sleep.
I should have bought bug spray I know. My own silly fault.
However, if we were considering staying there again I would insist that both aircon and bug screen were...
