Ristorante San Trovaso — Restaurant in Venice

Fantastic supper and experience. When we arrived it was relatively empty but was filling up by 20h00. Very comfortable environment and pleasant ambience. Tables and toilets very clean.

We were seated promptly and from beginning to end enjoyed excellent service. We started with something recommended during our travels called Sarde en Saor which was generous for two but led to buyers remorse when the main courses were served and we saw the portions!

We ordered a grilled sole and a grilled mixed seafood and vegetables. Both were cooked beautifully and were tasty and generous in size. Prices were reasonable for Venice but VFM was excellent. The side order of spinach was lovely. This was accompanied with a 0.5l of the house Pinot Bianco which was the perfect accompaniment.

We were too full for dessert and were offered a complimentary Grappa and Limoncello.

Finally, our main waiter, Feim was a pleasure and a wonderful ambassador for the restaurant. Shout out to the manager. Would absolutely return here when...

I found this restaurant on a whim while walking around and checked the reviews which were almost all positive. When we arrived we were sat outside and were promptly brought water, but we were quickly forgotten. We were able to order our food 20 minutes after sitting, and then we proceeded to wait another 30 minutes for the appetizer. After the appetizer finally came and went, the waiter came and asked us if we wanted dessert. However, we had not even received our main course yet! He mentioned that his boss told him to check on us but where was our main course? We waited another 10 minutes before asking for it and another 5 before it came out. They completely forgot about our order and then treated us poorly from then on. The food was also under whelming and I would not recommend this place to anyone. They also say they don’t split checks. I understand that meals are at a slower pace in Italy but they clearly forgot to even put our order in and then didn’t even admit their mistake. They were curt and...

Found this restaurant because it was so close to our hotel. They had the best Branzino dish for 2. They cook the fish whole, then bring the cooked fish to your table and show you the fish and then they filet the fish and split it for 2. The fish melted in your mouth like butter. Served with vegetables that were very tasty and had a great sauce on it. It is a very large dish and more than enough for 2. This dish was so amazing, We went back a second time just to finish off a great vacation with an amazing dish. All the dishes we all tried were fantastic.

The staff were very nice and fun when they had time to slow down, they even got into playing around with everyone at the table adding to the enjoyment of the evening. They have lots of space. Lots of room to accommodate everyone but best to have reservations on busy weekends. Would recommend this restaurant to...
