Overall, a nice stay at a decently modern hotel with a nice public bath at the top.||First things first, I don't recommend staying here unless you have a car or are prepared to walk. Chino Station is about a half hour walk from here and taxis out from the hotel require a call, and in the morning, they said it's not possible to get a taxi (unless you reserve one well in advance). If you do want to rely on taxis, it was about 1400 yen per way to the station.||That being said, the building/lobby are nice, lots of parking out front, and the room is decent. I prefer this room proportion to the usual long and skinny business hotel type. If you can, I suggest staying at the highest floor possible (11) so that when you go down, you are the first into the lift, save for anyone coming from the bath. Also, the bath is at L12 so you'll be close to that.||Best part of the property is the public bath at L12 with an indoor bath, sauna and outdoor bath. In the morning, you can get a nice sunrise from the men's side and I assume you can get a nice sunset view from the female side.||Nearby you have a bunch of places to eat within walking distance like Yoshinoya, Osho, a soba place across the street, another houtou place, and also a small strip mall with a yakiniku restaurant, Coco Ichiban, Aeon supermarket and some clothing shops. There's a Lawsons really nearby as well. Didn't try the breakfast.|I recall reading complaints about the lift. For our stay In December 2022, we didn't encounter any excessively long waits for the lift. ||Overall, not bad but as mentioned, it's far from the station if you don't have a car (and if you need a car, there's some rental car places near the station...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights in July 2023 while visiting friends who live nearby. This is a typical Japanese business hotel setup. We had one queen bed with one side of it pushed up against the wall. There was a small desk area - just enough to set up a laptop and various chargers. There was a mini-fridge and hot water pot in the room as well as pajamas. There is a station in the lobby to pick up amenities such as razors, combs, etc. The bathroom is also a standard Japanese business hotel modular style. Nothing fancy but functional. |This is the first hotel we've stayed at in years that had an actual key for the room. It took us a couple of days to realize we were supposed to leave the key at the front desk instead of taking it out with us. |There is a nice onsen. The women's side has an indoor bath and outdoor bath while the men's has the same plus a sauna. The women's side is accessed with a code you will get on check-in. |The breakfast was a highlight of the stay with lots of authentic and local choices. There was some variety each morning. I'd recommend going a bit later to breakfast - the 6:30am start is busy with those going out for hiking and golf. 7am was much quieter. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance if you're around for lunch and dinner. |We speak a bit of Japanese and the staff spoke some English as well so we were able to communicate enough. |If you're arriving by train, definitely plan to take a taxi from the station. It cost 1400 yen and would be a long,...
Read moreStayed here for two nights traveling abroad.
First off, if you're getting here via public transport, do make sure you're aware of the location since the walk is about 25 minutes from Chino Station and a taxi would otherwise be in the range is 1300-1500 yen. No public buses either. We were prepared to take taxis, but on the morning we intended to rent a car from the rental car place at the station, no taxis were available so we had to walk and it sounds like the non-availability is a common thing in the morning.
That being said, the location otherwise is actually pretty good. There's a bunch of things nearby (Yoshinoya, Lawson, a soba shop, a houtou restaurant, gas stations, and also a small strip mall with an Aeon supermarket) and it's near the expressway. Parking was free and though the parking lot filled up on one day, I think I saw they have another lot just maybe 50-100m down the street.
The room felt like a standard business hotel room which was fine, and the lobby and hotel corridors felt more upscale. The shared bath at the top floor was nice with a great view overlooking the town, which was especially nice when I woke up early for the sunrise.
Our room was just one floor below the bath, so whenever we went down, we were usually the first one in the elevator and didn't feel like we had to wait for the next one. The issue of the single elevator for the hotel didn't bother us but we saw in the reviews that others had...
